My daughter graduated from high school last Spring and starts the first first semester of college tomorrow.

Money is tight and we had to figure a way to pay for her college.
I am a pay as you go person and had to be creative in paying for her school.

I worked at the college for 13 years and one benefit I still receive from this job is any children living in the home can attend this college for only a few dollars a credit hour.

I went to the college book store & priced the cost of text books, WOW! One of her books cost $300.00.

My daughter, Dennie has an IEP so we applied at Voc Rehab for help with her school, and because I receive SSD she received assistance to help with the purchase of her book.

With the help of Voc Rehab and a small scholarship my daughter will be able to attend the first semester and not worry about paying for school.

Just thought I would share.
This is a Very Great Topic Bummer, We probably have Quite a Few Injured Workers with Children Reaching College Age, and want Their Child to get the Best Education Possible! My Daughter, who Graduated Last Year was Approved to a 1000 Girl Private College, and it Cost without Books and Room and Board Roughly $30,000.00 per Year!! She Worked with the Bursars Office, and a Great Financial Aide Rep., and Received Many Grants, Loans, and Even with My Bankruptcy due to My Injury, found Replacement Loans for the Parents Loans I needed for Her! She Received a Great Education, Graduated with a Bachelor's in Biology, with an Associates in Psychology, and a Grade Point Average of 3.89!! Schools are Very Aggressive when finding Funds for Our Children to go to College, and being Up-Front with them from the Beginning Makes it Much Easier for them to do Their Jobs and Find the Funds for Our Kids! If I ever Settle, I Plan on Paying Off All of Her School Loans, that would Relieve a Great Burden for Her!! Thanks Again for Bringing this Up Bummer, Hopefully Others will Post how Funds can be Received for Our Children, this World is Tough Enough, and a College Education in the Right Field can give an Upper Hand to Our Kids!! My Daughter is Searching for a Company that will Employ Her, and Pay for Her to go for Her Masters, there are Actually some Employers that will do that!!Wink
Thanks for sharing Still In Limbo.

One more thing I wanted to add -
My daughter will be sending her mileage travled to Voc Rehab and they will be sending her a check monthly to help with travel expense.
