My girlfriend was hurt in N.M. and has been struggling with comp doctors for the last year and a half. I live in Louisiana and want her to move here with me. Does anybody know the rules on Workmans Comp state changing or can you refer me to a source that I can find an answer to this?
Hi, and Welcome to the Forum! There is a Tab at the Top of the Page Entitled "Info.by State" that may Help. I know some on Here have Moved, and Hopefully One of them will be on Soon to Assist You! Good Luck!!Wink
she can relocate to another state but she'll have to find local doctors that will take New Mexico comp. she may also have to travel back to New Mexico for medical evaluation and/or comp conferences/hearings.
basic information on NM comp
she can move where ever she wants to. however her case will still be in the new mexico workcomp system. depending on the rules(im from il) as long as her new mexico doctors refer her to the new doctors in louisiana workcomp will cover the cost. once you start with one doctor you can see as many as needed as long as the orignal doctor makes the referral
