I was injured in 2005 and at this time I wait the judge's decision on future medical treatment.

I've had problems with scar tissue with the last couple of surgeries I've had.

My question is:

If a work comp doctor says I need future surgery due I have the right to say no to surgery?
yes. All professional medical recommendations are only advisory to the patient.
only a judge in the rarest of criminal or custodial situations could order mandatory medical procedures on a patient.
Scar Tissue is My Major Problem Bummer, and it's Well Documented by the 15 or 16, Maybe even 17 Dr.'s that have seen Me, I've Lost Count!! If the Surgery has a Chance of Complication due to Scar Tissue and it's known from the Start, as in My Case, Turning down SCS Implants, Morphine Pumps, and so forth have not Harmed My Case One Bit! I Hope this Helps, and Have a Great Week-End!!Wink
(((My question is:

It's only my opinion though, but how can one say {no} to something in the future, without fully knowing what the future would bring? As medical becomes better and better each and every day that passes by, the future may have a way around the problem. I have not yet been able to (((predict))) the future, so I guess I would have to say, I have no answer for the question.

My opinion also would be, why worry about this a this point and time anyways....Big Grin
Bad Boy I ask this question because I am having problems with the left hand due to the scar tissue.

I already know I need surgery of the right hand and very soon from what the doctor tells me.

Also looking at a future knee surgery.

So yes, this is a question with a purpose.
Oh, I wasn't aware you were having scar tissue issues with the recent hand surgery, my mistake.

A couple of weeks back, I watched a very short segment on scar tissue problem people. It was said the doctor needed to increase the persons blood flow. But, is was short, and really that was about it. Maybe a good question for your doctor?
Hi Bad Boy

I'm not the best at communicating.

I do have an appointment with the primary doctor this week and will ask him about what you posted.

Been trying to do the scar massage but the right hand is worse then the left and has little strength.

Lots of tender lumps under the incision.
Bummer, I do know Carpal Tunnel surgery takes some time to heal. Mine took a full year to heal.

Being tender is also normal.

May I ask, who said you have scar tissue build up in the surery area now? A simple rub with the thumb of the other hand and a drop of Vitamin Oil will help with any scar tissue, appling a little more pressure with the thumb each stroke you use.
It was my primary doctor, (osteopath).

I was told to massage the incision and have been doing so.

Will see if I am making any progress at this weeks appointment.
BX4, My Microdiscectomy/Laminectomy was the Very First Surgery Ever, and I didn't know I had a Scar Tissue Issue until After the Surgery! I was doing Fine at First, after a Few Weeks of PT, (They didn't Start that until about 2 Weeks after Surgery, when the Suture was Removed) I was Walking 3 Miles a Day on the Bike Trail, and My Therapist couldn't Believe it, and I told Him My Number One Goal was to get Back behind that Wheel, and Making Money!! Then I slowly Started being able not to Walk as Far, and then it got to Where I was Missing Walking Days, and My PT Therapist said I may be Over doing it, so I Listened and stayed with Just PT for a Few More Weeks, and then when My PT saw the Drastic Changes, He Finally gave in and Sent Me back to My Surgeon and Stopped PT. It took a Few Weeks to get in, and when I told Him My Concerns, He as I thought He would Argued with Me that it takes Time for Nerves to Heal, which I knew, So I Made a Deal with Him: If He would give Me another MRI and it came Back Clean, If I had to Crawl and Cry I would Finish PT, and get Myself Back to Work, and without so Much as even a Whimper from Me! When the MRI showed that the Sar Tissue had Filled where they Removed the Half of My Disc, and Encapsulated itself around My Crushed S1 Nerve Root, He Literally Threw a Script at Me and Said, "Go get ESI Shots!!" That's the Day I Retained Counsel, and Started My Search for another Surgeon, Either Neuro. or Ortho. that could Fix Me, and the 9th One, Who is the Re-Surgery Specialist for the Pittsburgh Steelers told Me to get back to My PCP and get a Good Pm Dr. to Keep Me as Comfortable as Possible!! Had they Listened at the Very Beginning of My Concerns, instead of Spend Months Arguing and Waiting, they May have been able to Break it Up, but it's a Permanent Fixture in My Back now!! If You Remember My Ear Surgery Last Year, My Left Ear is still 70% Closed due to Scar Tissue from Infections over the Years, and My Right Outer Ear Canal had to be Grafted and Re-Built, (I never went to the Dr. with Ear Infections or Colds, I went to Work, I had 2 Kids to Raise!) That Scar Tissue is a Sneaky thing, and Seems to Sneak in there like a Thief in the Night!! My PM Dr. though was Straight Up with Me, Thank God, and told Me Aqua, Acupuncture and the Other Evasive Courses were not an Option at My Advanced State, but did try ESI and A $3500.00 Tens/ Muscle Stimulator on Me, along with My Regimin of Meds.!Wink
