hi to everyone,
i have to tell you guys that you are really a god send to injured workers .i dont know any of you but enjoy coming to sight to read the post .im not totally sure how it helps me but it does,i guess knowing there are others fighting for same justice ,and it is justice.i dont know how wc can be so heartless.i know there are some that are not honest with system and that is what makes it so hard for us. i cant help but to be honest even if i did cut my nose off to spite my face.hence no monies coming in on st disability.thank you.
i do have a question to ask but just had to let you know that i do appreciate all of you.
i live in louisiana,dr recommended fusion on c67,read this on a report.he also said he didnt think it would do any good .why wasnt i informed of this and given decision and who did make the decision for me.
I would say since the report is nothing but double talk, you would then need to make an appointment, and get this doctor to tell you about this, and rewrite the report to were it isn't making them look stupid.
no one will admit you to the hospital or perform surgery in this country without your written consent. both doctor and hospital would be in severe legal trouble with accreditation and state licensing boards come audit time without that in your records.
Rhonda,
While I was going to physical therapy and seeing other doctors, my primary workers comp doctor put in her reports a couple of tmes that I was a candidate for spine surgery. At that point it had never been discussed with me. I think it was just the doctors talking with the WC insurance company and really didn't mean anything. When the surgery was disussed between me and the surgeon, and after thinking about it, I agrred to the surgery as the best option. At that point, he put in a surgical referral, and we were all on the same page.

Just letting you know my experience and maybe it will help you understand a little better. Take care! Tongue
i didnt have surgery and wanted to .my dr was very friendly with case nurse ,all they ever talked about was her husbands surgery.dr said i had to live with pain.
I'm sorry. i misunderstood. you wanted to decide about surgery and didn't want to leave it up to the doctor?
or
maybe you felt you didn't get a good explanation as to why he did not want to do surgery?
or
maybe you wanted more discussion and have some input on your treatment plan?

all of those really depend on the type of doctor you have. Not every physician has the same approach to patient invovelment. some are very "take charge"; others hardly communicate at all.
it also often depends on the patient.
some are more interested in the mechanics of the surgery or read up on the condition and various treatment options and want to be more involved.
you can change doctors and find one that is willing to explain things more. you can also help by researching your condition and various treatment options so you can discuss them intelligently with the doctor and his staff. If they see that you are interested and asking questions I'm sure they be more comfortable about explaining the various options and give you more input into the decision.
contact your carrier about changing doctors.
