Ok, here is my story and I will try to make it short. I got fired from my full-time job of 16 years.Meanwhile, I also have a part-time at WAWA that requires me to just ring register. I got a new full-time job in a freezer warehouse through a temp agency making half of what I was earning; but I was still making things work due to two jobs. Well, I got a hernia in the warehouse job from lifting 110 pound boxes of meat all day. I am now on workman's comp for the warehouse job which pays me 250 a week. They paid until July 29th and I am already through it with bills. I was making 550 between both jobs and also working all day. I can not go back to my WAWA untill I go back to the warehouse job that I hate. My questions are: Am I entitled to anything from the WAWA job and my time off from there as it is not my fault I got injured and I can perform that job? I mean both jobs together was how I was surviving!! Can I go and look for another job and if I am hired; can I take it before I am medically cleared on July 29th ??
Please help me!!
You can work anywhere you want as long as it falls within your doctors limitations. Nothing says you have to stay at the job you are injured at. I left my job/career of 15 yrs. because I could no longer hold a needle. I started a new career and I am staying within my doctors restrictions.
some states will allow all earnings to be used in determining your disability rate. if the job is within your work restrictions you can work.
So, are you saying it is possible for me to get w/c and disability from BOTH jobs?? Does this mean I can work WAWA and not the other at one time??
If WAWA Falls within Your Restrictions, I don't See a Reason You Couldn't! But to be Safe, You May want to Check with an Attorney that Deals with w/c, the First Consultation is Usually Free, and it May be good to Speak to a few anyway, in Case You need One in the Future! Best of Luck!!Wink
Never heard of WAWA.

Oh, I wish there was a job to work that I could find within my limitations. I'm trying to sell all my stuff to make it through this. My boss at WAWA suggested trying to find something under the radar; just until I get back on my feet. It's just so hard to go about doing all this.
