Has any one else broke there collar bone? It has been six weeks and I can still feel it moving when I move my arm. It is still swollen and black and blue. It doesn't seem to be healing. I go back to the doctor this week and hope he can tell me what is going on.
My Father Broke His Years ago, and they had Him in a Sling so Tight He could not even Move His Arm or Shoulder! From what You Described it may not be fully Healing Correctly, so take it Easy until you get to the Dr.!! Please let Us know what You Find Out!Wink
Sorry to hear but my son broke his when he was a bit younger, and I know kids heal alot faster but the DR did say he has to really watch his movement at first while healing. Once the healing starts he could be more active, but It may be different with you....
Still and Bronco- thanks for answering, hopefully I will get some answers when I go to the Doctor as this is getting old.
RNVic,
I sure hope you get to feeling better soon. This collar bone problem has been going on long enough. Praying for you and love ya.

Ugh geeze....I broke mine as a child. One could hear it out loud grinding when i walked. I was taped and slinged up for several weeks.

I know it's much harder on an adult, as one heals at a slower rate (your bones are no longer green and growing). You must also be in intense pain! Try to keep it as immobile as possible. Doc will exray at next visit & possibly find that it isn't healing properly...I hope this is not your case!!

OMG, that is so horrible! I think I missed your original post Sad I hope your doc appt. is soon, if not please call and get it moved up.

I have a pretty good sized knot on my right collar bone that hurts alot. It was xrayed and they said never broken but they can't explain the knot or the pain, go figure, lol...

Get better soon girl and please call and see if you can get in ASAP. If you tell them what's going on they might get you in right away.

Hugs,
monster
RnVic, so sorry to here of this.

A homemade sling can be formed from a large handkerchief, or towel, or from the triangle bandage found in your home first aid kit. Simply fold the handkerchief, or towel, in half to form a triangle. Then fold the triangle around the forearm with one pointy end toward the elbow and the other 2 tied around the neck. The elbow should be bent and supported across the chest.

Have had it in sling for six weeks now and my neck is getting soar from the sling. The RSD is at full force and that doesn't help.
Oh Vic....KNOW that YOU are in our prayers!!!!

Did you call the doc?
