california employer is telling me my health insurance will be cancelled after 4 months of being off work on workmans comp. is this a correct statement or were do i go to get info

they might be referring to FMLA.
If your employment is covered under FMLA you have 12 weeks of job protection and a cobra health insurance option at the end before you can be terminated.
