Hi Bad Boy

I hope you are having a fun & safe holiday.

I received my medical records from the surgeon today on the MMI appointment.

X-rays look good on the knee, the doctor says I do need to work on strength.

My question is about ROM, I am 1 year post operative and my flexion measures to 118, is this a good number for ROM?

Mine is a stryker knee.

Thanks,
Bummer Knees
As they hope to get 120 degree, 118 isn't at all bad. Many people get 85 to 90 degrees.
The doctor was happy with the ROM but not with the strength.

I do believe the lack of strength is due to the neuropathy problems I have with the left leg. Does that make sense?

When you do stairs do you alternate when taking the stairs or do you lead with the left or right up the steps?
Straight up leg raises for muscle build up, and ham string.

Stairs, I walk normal on. One leg after the other, up or down.
I do not alternate when doing the stairs, I lead with the right going up, left going down. It's the way I was instructed to do in physical therapy.

I find to alternate to be very difficult for me, doctor says it is a strength issue.

I have days my knee is very swollen and those days are "the shorts days" can't get capris or jeans over the knee. And I wear lose fitting jeans & capris on other days, can't tolerate anything snug/knee.

I have worked hard to achieve the ROM I have, also had to battle the scar tissue.

How is your knee doing & what type of ROM do you have? What type of brand/company of replacement do you have?
