Hello everyone

ok..I lift alot of boxes at work and days ago I was lifting a box with someones help and when I went to put it down i felt something move on my sternum (breast bone) and it only hurt a little but dint think it was something bad. Then i went home after work and late evening my chest started to hurt and I went to bed.

I woke up at 5:00am coughfing and i coulnt breathe or move my chest so a family member took me to the nearest ER and I told the doctor what had happened to me and gave me a workers comp form to take to my boss, and i did the same day i got out of the hospital.

Today I filed a report and my boss gave me the number of the clinic i had to go to.After I went to the clinic the lady that was there told me they didnt have a works comp doctor for over 2 1/2 years.I called my boss but he told his assnt that he was busy that he was gonna call me later and he never did so i called my job and his assnt told me that he already went home and she acted like she forgot. She gave me 3 more doctors clinic to go but the offices are no longer there (I also called ).

What can I do? I feel like they are not taking my situation seriously.
welcome to the forum.people can help nyou better if you post your state. at you place of employment employer should have posted a list of wc doctors that you can see if you get hurt. you should be able to choose from that list. good luck
from PA
someone will be along that can help you better than i can, along with the drs you should be able to see the insurance company should also be posted with contact information, if you can't get the right info out of your boss you can request the dr list from ins. co. hope this helps
In PA, If your employer has posted a list of six or more physicians or health care providers in the workplace, then the employee is required to visit one of them for initial treatment and continue treatment with that provider or another on the list for a period of 90 days following the first visit. The employee may choose any provider on the list. The employer can not require or direct the employee to any specific provider on the list.

Listed providers must be geographically accessible.

If the employer's list of designated providers fails to comply with the Act and the regulations, the employee has the right to treat with a provider of his or her choice.

Before you do anything else you should call the PA WC Claims information helpline. The number is at http://www.workerscompensation.com/penns...cts01.php.

You may also wish to consult with an attorney. Do not accept substandard treatment. Getting better is what you need to be focused on. Good luck.
