When i sustaind my injury (neck & back) and started the process into workers comp., i was sent brouchers and verbaly told that there would be a "Rehabilitation" process. The brochures spelled it out thoroughly, it is very comprehensive. But my relationship with WC started to sour, to the point that i ended up retaining a WC lawyer (not a good thing) I was counting on this Rehabilitation, for with out it i had nothing, and i was told by the doctors that i coud not return to my old job. But, once you retain a lawyer you are told that you will have no more contact's with WC. And my Rehabilitation? well i kept waiting to here from WC, and of course that never happend.
I did find a job during that time ( half the money that i was making)but it had a time limit and when my part in that job ran out i was layed off, and found my self with out work, and no training for a new one. I have simplified this story, but, i think you get the idea.
So the question i would like to present is.
Has any one out there had any dealings with "State Fund Rehabilitation Services for Arizona Workers" ? Has anyone out there gone through any kind of Rehabilitation? What is the responsability of WC when they make these promises.
I need answers (we all need answers)- thank you - tales [/size]from the slag heap
Not having contact with your WC Adjuster has nothing to do with the Rehabilitation process. They are not the ones who provide it. The Special Fund does. The injured worker can request benefits. Talk to your lawyer. They should be helping you with this.

Pursuant to A.R.S. § 23-1065, the Special Fund has discretionary power in providing vocational rehabilitation benefits. While rehabilitation is not mandatory in Arizona, the statutes specify that the Special Fund can provide assistance in this area if requested by the carrier or the injured worker, and if certain criteria are met. The Special Fund promotes and assists in vocational rehabilitation, both on scheduled and unscheduled injuries. Since these are two distinct categories the Special Fund’s participation, policy statements, and costs may vary.
Hi, The reason you can no longer speak to WC adjuster, is because you have retained a lawyer. So he now is having to deal with their BS instead of you.

Since nothing happens overnight w/ WC cases....possibly your lawyer can retain voc rehab or something similar for you.
Kate is right....your lawyer should be handling all of this for you....so you don't have to worry about it.

Take care, Lilly

If i am unhappy with the way my case was handeld who do i go to?
my lawyer seems to be the major problem, my lawyer never talks to me, which has led me to be suspicious of him. I feel like a rat in a maze with no way out.
you can change lawyers at any time. interview a few before choosing.
