Hi, it has been awhile since I have posted but I have been suffering from depression big time. Well my date is fastly approaching and I was hoping some of you can help with what I will be seeing. I am going for chronic knee pain 4 surgeries in 3 years and 1 major 1 on the way. Also for depression/anxiety/schizoaffective disorder issues. For my knee I wear a big brace 24/7 and use a cane. I use a wheel chair if I am to be out and walking alot. Would this look bad if I went in the wheel chair. Also I have terrible anxiety issues. Will the judge ask most of the questions to me or my attorney. I haven't even met my attorney yet so this will also be hard for me. Any info is appreciated. If you believe in prayer please say 1 for me. Close to 4 years of waiting is about to be over. Thanks
believe in prayer? WE ARE PRAYER WARRIERS...9 pm where ever I am I stop and say a prayer for this forum for those that ask I say extra..... many of us do...you are welcome to join us for 9 pm prayers....I also include Admin in every prayer because he makes this place possiable and because he puts up with me......
jayne, thanks I will do that. I know some places frown on religion. Thanks again! GOD BLESS!!
workers comp is not civil/negligence/criminal.
forget what you've seen on TV
the judge is an Administrative Law Judge (think glorified atty).
workers comp law is to law what military music is to music.

if it's like most it is very informal. men in suits with paper under their arms.
it would not look bad to be in a wheel chair. if it is prescribed by the doctors. don't do it to look more hurt. walking with canes or a walker can be even more dramatic.
but do what you are most comfortable doing.
don't be afraid to ask for a break at any time during the proceedings for health or composure or any reason.
some questions will be directed toward you. the judge needs to get a sense of the case in your own words.
remember the judge is an experienced pro. they've seen and heard everything many many times
here is how a comp hearing is handled in california. I suspect your experience will be similar
