I usually delete stuff like this when I get it but this just hit me. You do as you want but I'm going to give this a shot.

THE CAN FROM CHINA

---------------
THE CAN FROM CHINA

I was buying food the other day at the Country Market. On the label of some products, it said, "From China". For example, the "Our Family" brand of Mandarin oranges says right on the label, "From China".
I was shocked!! For a few more cents I bought the Liberty Gold brand or Dole, which is from California .

Are we Americans as dumb as we appear --- or --- is it that we just do not think?

While the Chinese, knowingly and intentionally, export inferior and
even toxic products and dangerous toys and goods to be sold in American markets, the media wrings its hands and criticizes the Bush Administration for perceived errors. Yet 70% of Americans believe that the trading
privileges afforded to the Chinese should be suspended.

Well, duh..why do you need the government to suspend trading privileges?

SIMPLY DO IT YOURSELF, AMERICA !!
Simply look on the bottom of every product you buy, and if it says 'Made in China ' or 'PRC' (and that now includes Hong Kong ), simply choose another product, or none at all. You will be amazed at how dependent you are on Chinese products, and you will be equally amazed at what you can do without. Who needs plastic eggs to celebrate Easter? If you must have eggs, use real ones and benefit some American farmer. Easter is just an
example, the point is do not wait for the government to act. Just go ahead and assume control on your own.

THINK ABOUT THIS If 200 million Americans refuse to buy just $20 each of Chinese goods, that's a billion dollar trade imbalance resolved in our favor...fast!! The downside? Some American businesses will feel a temporary
pinch from having foreign stockpiles of inventory. Wahhhhhhhhhhhh

The solution? Let's give them fair warning and send our own message:
Most of the people who have been reading about this matter are planning on
implementing this on June 4, and continue it until July 4. That is only one month of trading losses, but it will hit the Chinese for 1/12th of the total, or 8%, of their American exports. Then they will at least have to ask themselves if the benefits of their arrogance and lawlessness were worth it. Remember, June 4 to July 4.

EVEN BETTER. .. . START NOW.

Let's show them that we are Americans, and NOBODY can take us for granted. If we can't live without cheap Chinese goods for one month out of our lives, WE DESERVE WHAT WE GET!
Jayne, I Agree that We are way too Involved with China, not only via Products Imported, but the Money We are Borrowing from Them! I Really am Very Concerned for My Kids, (23, and 30, I Started Early!!!Smile) and My Grand Children. Never in My Life have I Felt the U.S. was Spinning Out of Control as I do now!! North Korea is just waiting for the Smallest Mistake to Attack South Korea, One of Our Allies, and More of Our Soldiers are going to Die on Foreign Soil, to Help Keep Us Free, and Feel Safe when We Go to Bed! We should Think of Our Troops when We Buy Products, and Honor them by trying to Buy as Much American Products as We can, so they can Return to the Home they Left to Protect Us with a Home to have Waiting, not One Lost to Foreclosure, and a Job so they can Continue Their American Dream!! I'm not blaming All of this on North Korea, they are just an Example, but I feel the American Soldier, Active, Retired, or at Eternal Peace Deserves All the Respect We can give them, and this could be a Small Way We could Honor Them!! Just My Opinion, but I Feel Enough is Enough Already, and if We don't Start Worrying about the U.S. as Citizens, Instead of Blaming Everything on the Politicians, Our Fate May Very Well be Sealed!!Wink
I do check what I buy and if it is not made in the USA I do not buy it.

I worked for Sam Walton and trained under him at a time Wal Mart only carried American made products.

I will have to may more closer attention to the food I buy, going to go upstairs and check my food pantry.
Most of our veggies we grow and can ourselves....I am trying to get the fruit trees going also so that I can can or freeze that also...Most of our grocery stores her put where the fruits and veggies come from.....but to find a coffee pot or even a shirt made in the usa you are gonna have to look hard...
Jayne

Went to the nursery today and got some more vegetable plants.

Going to plant them in white buckets as suggested.

I planted seeds but they didn't take.
I had to put everything in buckets also.....garden was just to wet and lets face I cant hoe the row I used to either.......lol
And I can't do the bending, thats why I do the buckets.

Got my Mother & Father In Law a couple of tomato plants this spring.

My Father In Law is very ill and those plants have been the best therapy for him.
Good idea but don't forget the shipping industry employees lots of Americans.
A lot of skilled longshoremen, from running the massive cranes to navigation.
What we need to do is contact every CEO and demand that they stop opening factories out of country just to save a buck. The CEO's know they can get cheap and even child labor and sell here at a great gain. We could even save the post office at the same time, lots of letters. Hey its a thought. Bernie
My Daddy and I cuss and discuss this all the time......I tell him we as americans priced our butts right out of the market....when you have to pay a person in a factory line 20 bucks an hour and and the chinese pay 2 dollars an hour....Quess where Ford is gonna have their factory?Same with clothing you have to pay a worker in a clothing factory 20 bucks an hour and that little indonesia child 2 dollars a day quess where they are gonna build their factories....
Jayne,
Thanks for that heads up. You know I can't say that I pay that close attention but I promise to start now. That is, when I do go to the grocery store. I don't do much of that because of my problem walking in those types of places. I am not in support of China products. Thanks again Jayne. Love ya girlie!
