hello all. im gonna try 2 not make this n2 a book but im desperate 4 some advice. I am n Mississippi & was injured at work in '06 i went to my pcp & then was sent to PM clinic when nobody could figure out what was wrong w my back. i did several injections & the narcs all that i finally got some relief from an injection & we decided if i had relief again next month would do some burning of the nerves biz. then BAM WC quits paying after a year bc i have no solid proof that somethings wrong w my back. i begged & pleaded w WC 2 just give me 1 more month i was so close 2 a chance of a little relief but NOOO on top of that id been on strong narc 4 well over a year & was just cut off so i had 2 detox at home i had to take a leave of absence from work & i didnt know what 2 put as my reaon except detox from Rx. meds & my job said i either had 2 be drug tested 4 a year & do all this rehab stuff bc i used the word detox so i was a drug addict??!! i was also sent to an IME who didnt touch me talked to me for 5-10 mins told me i needed to lose weight & quit smoking then my back would quit hurting. it didnt. i got a lawyer, was sent 2 another IME, which i was scared 2 death 2 go 2 bc the 1st 1 they sent me 2 was a moron but i went. this time the IME said i was bs'n there is something definately wrong w my back & i need 2 finish my treatment. so the judge said WC has to pay 2 fix my back or i can settle. i choose not 2 settle bc im only 29 & unable 2 work or barely do anything requiring bending,lifting,squatting,etc.. SO i made an appt w my PM now 4 some reason they refuse 2 see me said they can't help me. im confused they helped me b4 what happened. so my lawyer & i picked another PM dr then i got a call thurs. saying my lawyer got a letter from opposing counsel w an appt at a PM clinic they made me. Im so scared to go it seems everytime but 1 i've been @ the DR of their choice i get lied on & screwed so...what do i do?? do i go? do i tell my lawyer i want 2 pick my own PM dr i mean i won the lawsuit shouldn't i get 2 pick? who's 2 say this dr won't see me once & say there is nothing he can do then im royally screwed!!!
I'm sorry this is so very long i've had all these ?'s & no1 really 2 talk 2. my lawyer is suppose 2 call me b4 mon bc i told his sec. i wouldn't be going 2 the appt tues unless i spoke w him 1st. PLEASE HELP!!???

thank u 4 the quick reply jayne. iv researched the dr a lil bit & he seems good but (call me crazy) it seems like WC has a way of gettin md's 2 say what they want them 2 say not what the pt really needs. im just so afraid ill go 2 him he'll see me a time or 2 then WC will have their way & he will say there isn't anything that can be done. this has been going on 4 3yrs at 29 its crazy to not be able 2 do normal things simply bc of back pain that could be treated i thought i would get to pick the PM clinic or thats how my lawyer made it sound then when his office called me w my appt thurs they said he wouldn't allow you 2 go 2 a dr that he didnt deem credible but if you don't want 2 go you dont have 2. i want 2 talk to this judge i want 2 tell him what hell this is. i went & got my CNA license to work until i got back in nursing school but who was i kidding i can't work.

also the appt tues is 2 hrs away ive only received mileage the 2x's i had 2 c an IME is it unreasonable 2 ask 4 mileage? the PM clinic i went 2 for that year was an hour away i never thought about mileage i didnt want 2 push my luck my now i've been screwed so much shouldn't they pay it? esp. since its 2 hrs away?

yes they will and if you call your adjuster they may pay in advance call and talk to them you might get lucky and get one that has a heart and not a thumping gizzard

She has an attorney, and I'm sure the attorney would not want her to call the adjustor.

You should go to the appointment and write down your mileage and submit to your attorney for payment.

I do think if you talk to your attorney, you may not have to allow this doctor to treat you. But, what if this doctor kind find the source of your problem? Then you may have a change of heart.

If you want hope, you have to keep trying is all. Not every single doctor will just let you fly by. One will do something.

What did your MRI report say?

Maybe you need to see a Nerusurgeon?

i do want hope!!! b4 mri's didnt show anything they had said something about nerve root? the most recent mri's show multiple bulging discs??

Would be nice to know what the first and second MRI reports are saying.
