Hello Everyone! I am new to the forum but have been injured since 2004! My Dr. Says there is no more they can do for me. I've had a anterior fusion and posterior instumentation in 2005 & 2007. His last course of action is to insert a spine stimulator into my low back. If there is anyone out there who has one can you please advice me if it has worked for you? Is it effective? What is the surgical process? I appreciate any info! Thanks and God Bless!
There are a few us here with one. In my case, the first thing was a mental exam, followed by a trial period. That was when the leads were inserted into the back and I wore the generator in a verclo belt. The trial period lasted a week. It did/does help. A month latter I had one implanted. That was 12-07. I have had it adjusted a few times. It does help, but it is not a fix all cure.

The spine stimulator, I have never had one or have been offered one. I have talked with many people who have them and they state that they have gotten major relief from it. One even told me they could not live without it. I have heard nothing but positive comments regarding this issue. I will pry that the right decision will be made for you and if you have this procedure done that you will also have great results. Take care and God Bless.
I am from Louisiana so here it goes.

I to have had a stimulator implanted since Sept. 2008. It was one of the best decisions I have made. I need a 4 level lumbar fusion and the surgeons here they would not do a 4 level fusion. That the stimulator was my only thing to try and get some relief. I live with it going 24/7.
