Im from Texas, and about 10 years ago I injured my back and received treatment and compensation. Since then, my back has flared up a few times. This last time it went out it has stayed out. I am unemployed and my back wouldn't let me work in my profession. In short, since I have already had a claim with this issue, and have been compensated, will I still be covered under workman's compensation if I go see a Dr. now? I am now in constant pain every day and it is a job just to put on my socks. I just turned 33 yrs old and am too young to be dealing with this kind of pain...
I am unfamilure with the laws that were in place ten years ago.
My injury was in 2005, and the the law then was life time medical for the injury.
You may want to contact your adjuster from back then and see what they say. You can also contact your local workers compensation office and ask them.
It could be that you have a new injury. It would take a dr. to make that determination as well as make a connection from the old injury to the pain you are having now. I wish you well.

not unless the doctor can link your current need for treatment to what happened 10 years ago and not anything that's happened since. I suspect other doctors will have different opinions and if you did find a doctor that linked the cause and effect over the last 10 years others would disagree and the claim would have to be litigated.

In Texas we have Life Time medical coverage - my injury was 12 years ago and I am still covered. Go see your origional treating doctor and go from there.
