Wanting to hear your thoughts and has it struck your state yet?Where did it come from??
We are ok here so far. From everything I hear it was in Mexico and then brought to the states by people that visited Mexico. I haven't heard where it originally started.....Is Iowa ok yet?
we have it in the state below and above us so just a matter of time....Kids are being made to use purell alot at school and we have been told if you dont feel well stay home........I wonder how many children will "feel" sick on Friday(test day) around here
Some kids from the local school were in Mexico on vacation and the school cut the vacation short. So far I guess everyone is ok.
I'm in Pa., and We haven't had any Cases Yet, but it's around Us in Ohio and New York! Watching CNN Yesterday, they had a Report that when Our President was in Mexico Recently He Had a Personal Tour Guide to Show Him the Sights, and that Guide has Died recently from this Flu!! But I didn't See where the White House has Released the Presidents Health after this. I Hope He is Well, and I Pray that it doesn't Reach any of Us Here, or Our Family and Friends!! Hopefully it will be under Control soon! Thanks for Asking!!Wink
INcubation period is rather short so no worries from such a remote contact.
We have reported cases in my state, Kansas.

We received swine certification last week, required for 4-H swine projects.

We are scheduled to pickup the pigs tomorrow.

Before we do that I am going to call the county extension office and see what they recommend we do because of the swine flu.
From what I heard it was started in Mexico City.

They said it didn't come from animals as they know yet at this time.

In Illinois, they are worried with all the fights coming in from the Airports, and are now monitoring the area.

I have heard, people that get treatment quickly, can be treated from home.
Our Pigs are market swine.

May not be a good year to be selling at the fair.
I received a letter today from the National Pork Producers Association in regards to the swine flu and requesting that certian procedures be followed this year among pork producers.

This letter outlines 2 pages of practices for prok producers to follow to keep a healthy enviroment.

Every years 4-H families must go thru a certification process for swine certification.
This is a lengthy and involved training.

This letter I received says "this is a unique virus and it has not been seen in the US swine herd"
