I am in pain but I guess I am lucky after reading some of the stories on here. I have not been denied any treatment when I talk to my case worker she is all for me to get better. I have had surgery L5 S1 been through pt have had epidural steroid shots which none of them worked now have a tens unit that helps a bit. I am going in the morning to pain dr again to talk about SCS. I have been out of work almost a year and they have ok'd everything and i have had a check every week. I would much rather be back to work out there on the road I am going crazy here at home. I dont know if I should even get a lawyer since they are doing everything i guess they are supposed to be doing. Like I said i just want to go back to work.[/b][/size]
Welcome to the forum. Just so you know,your case managers' goal is to get you back to work no matter what. If the tables turn and you are unable to go back to work your case manager will turn .If that were to happen it is a good idea to consult a workers comp lawyer.
I will be flying to NY next week to discuss a SCS with my Pain management Dr . Hope it helps you . it isnt a cure all but it can be beneficial .
I don't believe you need a lawyer right now...since they are treating you well....BUT, if they do start treating you badly, and try to push you back to work when you KNOW you cannot preform (you know your body better than anyone) that's when you may need a lawyer. Remember if you involve an attorney, he gets % of any monies he obtains for you.

If you select to speak to an attorney make sure this is an attorney that works mostly with work comp cases.
Also the inital consult with an attorney is free.
Don't trust the case worker especially if it is determined you can't go back to work. Everything with my case was fine until I had to go for retraining. I went back to work after my first surgery and everything was fine. Had to go for a second surgery and a third before it was determined I had to change professions. The insurance company and employer agreed to pay for schooling but half way through some bean counter seen how much I was costing them and they just shut off my pay and schooling-no notice. All perfectly legal since it was a voluntary pay. DO NOT TRUST ANYONE FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANY. Get a lawyer.
Thank you all for your inputs I will definately keep that in mind about a lawyer. I am in Maine and will have to get a lawyer in Missouri.
This is why you need to speak with an Attorney that handles work comp in your State first. As your case could be presented in your own State.
