I live in iowa and I work at a care center, injured my neck in may, and had cervical fusion in dec. I just got release back to work starting full duty on April 1. Last week I got a call from my docs nurse and she told me that my bosses called and asked them if i could come back to work starting yesterday. I wasn't sure why, however, I agreed. Are my bosses allowed to talk to my doctor about this?

Also, I have been basically shunned at work, they didn't believe that I was even hurt, when I returned yesterday, hardly anyone talked to me. I had put in my application for another job in a different town, because I can't handle the stress of that boss. He watched me like a hawk. Anyway, can I put my two weeks in before I am actually released from work and start a new job? I ask because I have a 6 month check with xrays and don't want to be stuck with the bill. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Work Comp doesn't say you can't change jobs.
Of course you can change jobs as long as you stay within your restrictions within your new job. I changed my job when I was put on light duty on the job I was injured at as I felt humiliated just sitting around watching patients waiting to get in to see their doctor. I was very appreciative of my former employer for finding work for me but being a phlebomtomist and everyone knowing what I did there made it hard for me to sit there and do nothing.

Just make sure you keep in the restrictions and give at least a two week notice to your employer as it is only right. If you cannot find work for the amount of money you made before because of your restrictions you may be entitled to get wc to make up the difference in pay. I am not sure about this, but someone may come along and let you know. You medical care will be covered no matter where you work.
it's not your doctor; it's the employers.
workers comp insurance is coverage for the employer. you can change jobs at anytime and the employer still has insurance on your claim.
workers comp is not your health insurance and doesn't end when you leave employment.
