In my precalculus book came two disks. On the disks are of tutors that walk me through handling some problems. I had to purchase this book used, because that is the rule with the state. They are paying for my books and tuition. Anyway, one of the disk has stopped working. The other disk works fine. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can do to get this disk working again?????
AQA...if you have not already did it, try searching for "computer disc repair." I don't have any other ideas Red
is the disc scratched up?if so walmart and radio shack sell a disc resurfacer why work.
all the video rental places around here will fix em for 2 dollars..(scratches) as for your discs...I have no idea
I would use a sos pad....................No just kidding.lol.
But I have done this it has worked and sometimes not, try car wax nothing abrasive. just thin layer lightly, use a cotton swab to take it off. But try at your own risk it has worked for my pc-games. But if they are deep scratches good luck.
You stated one disc stop working. Does that mean it use to work, and now has just stoped?
I once bought a Disc cleaner, and it had a fluid with it, said to help restore the disc. I never got a chance to use it, because my daughter took it. But, she told me, she had some disc that wouldn't play, and after she used it they played just fine.
You can also try the Disc in a different machine to see if you get the same results.
Thank you all for your advice. This precalculus class is kicking my butt. I may have to drop it and take it again in the fall. My medical condition is keeping me from focusing on the lecture. Anyway, I am now trying this dvd/cd repair kit from Walmart. I did not know that there was any such thing. Hopefully it will work.
Badboy, Yes it did work before. After I used it, I put it back in it's sleve in the book. Now it does not work in either computer. I will see if this repair kit works, if it doesn't, I will then freeze the disc and see what happens. My thought behind freezing it is that it will contract, and if a scratch is causing the problem (which I think it is ) it may contract enough for me to load it and then copy it.
Anyone have any thoughts to share???

Have you contacted the college book store where your text books were purchased.
I realize the disc worked 1x for you, just wonder it there would be anything they can do.
And.......I understand the part about lack of focusing and needing to retake the class.
I was enrolled in an accounting class last fall.......I had problems with focusing and with this type of class if you get one part of the answer wrong then all other answers are also wrong.
Had to drop the class. My doctor told me to get my medical stable first then retake the class if that is what I want to do.
