Hi everyone, I have been on the job foe 1 week and my company is paying me $7.50 per hr and comp is supposed to make up the difference to add up to my comp check without being back. Is this true in michigan cuz I have not gotten a detailed written letter to explain how it works, does anyone know?
Not sure of the laws in Mich but normaly the company will pay 66% of the lost pay, but that money is not taxable. But like I said I don't know the law up there for sure.

Sorry, should expand this, I was off for 4 months and the W/C rep got together with my shop and the found me something to do. I had 2 jobs when I got hurt and they were paying me what amounted to my regular job for 40 hours. they called me back and said they would pay me peanuts to sit in a chair and fill out paperwork instead of sitting home and that comp would make up the difference to add up to what i was getting sitting at home.
Hi Gatekeeper,
I am from Michigan also and yes they will send you the differential between WC pay and your current pay. You will need to fax the insurance company your check stub weekly or biweekly however you get paid. Call your adjuster to find out where they want the copy sent.
One thing here in Michigan is when they offer you employment at a lower wage or hours, there is a downside. Your WC pay is calculated from your average wage and they will pay you the difference but after 100 weeks your new pay becomes your average weekly wage and the adjustment stops.
