Thank you for reading this post. Everyone one on this forum has been very patient with me and I do appreciate that.
Now for my question:
I posted about the scare I had at Dillons on another thread.
Now I am starting to see a pattern with this.
Everyone 2 to 3 days I am finding myself in a similar situation as I did at Dillons. The heavy weighted numbness down the leg & foot with very intense pain and problems moving my right foot. I also experience a burning feeling in some areas.
This happened again today and my sister was with me at the time. I remember telling her, if this keeps up I'm going to the emergency room. Getting off my feet lessens the pain but I can't always do that.
This is the 3rd time this week this has happened.
As this increases are there warning flags or symptoms I need to watch for.
I don't know what I would do without you guys!
Bummer Knees
I would think, that right after this happens, you should get in to see your doctor, so they can see the problem first hand also.
To why this is happening, I don't know. I do remember I had a issue close to this, before my knee replacement, but haven't had them problems after the knee replacement.
Bad Boy
I wish it were that easy to get in to see my doctor. The norm is about 2 weeks, although after my auto accident I was able to get in the following day.
I will call him at let the office know next time it happens.
I have the nerve conduction test Tueday, good thing.
Bummer,
Could you get another MRI of your back or your knee to see why this keeps happening? I know I keep reading your having pains but do not know what makes you fall or not be able to stand. Is it a disc in your back being pinched or is it problems from the knee surgery?
Sparkey
I agree with you, I do need a MRI, the last one I had was April 08 and it was without contrast. It showed 3 bulging disc in the lumbar area. October 07 I had test done that showed a grade 4 disc disruption at L5. I also have a few other issues of the lumbar spine.
I believe after the nerve conduction test the doctor will order a MRI.
The incidents I have been having are when I am out and shopping. I do try to get in and out of stores as Still In Limbo suggested but that can't always be done. If I have problems at home I can get off my feet.
I am getting worred because these incidents are becoming more frequent.
If they are becoming More Frequent, it could be for a Couple of Reasons. Have You been on Your Feet More Lately? that could be a Possibility, or the Herniation Pressing on the Nerve has become More Pronounced, or if You are Impinging a Nerve More Often, it will Inflame Quicker. My Opinion Only, and I know You Probably won't want to do this, but it seems the Only Way to Check it when it Happens. Go to the ER while this is Acting Up, and they MAY Order an MRI with/without Contrast to See what's Up! My Other Suggestion is to Start Using the Store Provided Electric Scooters when You Shop, I've Used them Many Times when I was having a Bad Day. Don't be too Proud or Embarrassed to do so, most People are Actually Very Nice when You are Using those. Other than a Full Neurological Work-Up with an MRI or Discogram Results, I really don't know what else to Say to Help Bummer. As always My Very Best, and My Prayers are for ALL of You Every Day!!
P.S.- Make SURE You tell them the Pain is Worst when Standing and Walking, so they give You the Right Tests and Hopefully they will Find the Problem!!
Thank you Still In Limbo
Your information is very helpful.
I do like your suggestion, next time this happens I will go to the local emergency room. I did not want to go yesterday being Saturday, the ER often is a circus on weekends.
Going to the store it seems as if every thing I need is in the back of the store and that requires more walking.
I have an Opinion; Maybe, just maybe, if I am correct, is Bummer has a Tumor at T-12. This nerve has a connection with the Sciatic Nerve. I am wondering, if this is where her problem could be coming from. But if I also remember, bummer said 3 Bulging / Herniated Disc somewhere, don't recall the locations. Fill us in on this Bummer.
T12 vertebrae can affect the following structures, organs, ... Prostate gland; Muscles of the lower back; Sciatic nerve ...
WIll do Bad Boy
The MRI dated 8/07 shows no bulging.
This comes from the MRI without contrast 4/07.
L5-SI - Shows mild loss of signal, mild buldging of the disc. Mild bilateral facet arthophy, greater on the left side.
L4-5 - Mild to moderate loss of signal. Mild buldging of the disc. Mild bilateral facet arthophy, greater on the left side.
L1-2 - Mild loss of height and moderate loss of signal. L4-5 - Mild to moderate loss of signal.
L2-3 - Moderate anterior spurring.
T12 - There us a stable abnormality involving the T12 vertebral body.
The Procedure notes form the doctor that did the ESI's and discogram read:
L4-5 - Marked disruption of the normal internal disc aechitecture was evident.
L5-S1 - Disruption of the normal internal disc architecture is wvident.
My opinion next is, to take that MRI, and have another done, with & without contrast, and get a new updated comparasion done. Only to see if anything had changed.
That's really about all one can do, even a Doctor.
