Has anyone ever taken Relafen 750 before? If so, what were your reactions to it, relief, and so on. Relafen is mostly used for RA.

I guess this is an update to my other post. When we disscussed the pain I was having. My doctor has prescribed this Medication Relafen, twice a day, 1 every 12 hours, and then to use Vicodine as needed for break through pain. This is going to be me and my doctor working together to find relief. I know it might take time, and it is a start.

I did as many suggested about having an ANA Blood test performed. He said I wouldn't need the ANA, but he did order up a different one, to test for RA, and other known Arthritis names, to find out what is the possible type. But, have to wait 6 weeks to get the test. My fault because I stopped the Lipitor thinking that might be causing joint pain.
Relafen is just another NSAID, no different than ibuprofen. All NSAIDs share the same effect and side effect profile.
BBBB please be careful taking the relafen. It can work well for the pain but also has side effects that effect the kidneys and cause bleeding.Make sure the doctor does all needed lab work and checks kidney function every three months.
BB....I took Relafen years ago. Same as all other NSAIDS to me. Help somewhat with the inflammation but set my stomach off within 2-3 days. As far as your Lipitor goes I sometimes have a side effect months after being on something although I have been told if side effects are going to occur they will within the first week. I don't believe this so I would have done the same as you. Cholestrol drugs are known for causing muscle and joint pain. I now have the big 3. Diabetes, (diet controlled) HB (med controlled) and my choolestrol for some odd reason goes from 180 to 215 consistantly through the year. This time is was 213 and my PCP wanted to try meds. I have only been taking them for a week and all of a sudden aren't sleeping AGAIN and having weird pains in different joints. I have my eyes open. Good luck with the relafen. I hope it helps with the pain.

Badboy...how's the weather there? We have been upper 50's for a few days and I have to say that I don't hurt as much. That to me is arthritis. I think what happens after we injure and wear out our joints is arthritis sets in everywhere, we tense muscles to function with the pain and hence make things worse. I am not saying we all do this, but I know I do. I am excluding some people from this as it doesn't pertain to them due to their injuries or complications.
I was on Lipitor for 4 years with no problem, It is a Statin and should not be stoped all at once. If diet and exercise will not controll high Cholestrol, then what choice do you have except none and take the consequinces. I am now on Crestor and have been for 3 years, with no side effects. but better than a heart attack or a stroke. My # was over 500 with diet...........
RNVic, blood test are starting in 6 weeks, then stay in contact with doctor, and another blood test in 2 1/2 months after.

Cap, the weather has been great the last few days, T-Shirt weather for us, LMAO..

Tuffy, I have doctor's permission to try and slow down then stop the Lipitor from time to time, to see if joint pain does go away. I never just stop a medication, but do know how to reduce it, then stop.

Arthritis, I know I have had for years, even before ever injured. Many medical attempts had been made for relief, but, as of yet, nothing has ever worked.

Muscle and Joint pain, that's me, rough in the morning till mid day. But my lower back has just been killing me lately. I need to get some relief, so I can work my back out, for that relief. This I know I can do.
Okay, started the Relafen 750 mg tonite. Trust me I am praying that I am not Allergic to this one also. I'm also praying that just maybe I may see a sign of some relief come morning.
Good luck and hope you wake up pain free.......Sleep tight.
Here's some prayers going up for you BB.....My Husband is allergic to ALL NSAIDS. Goes into anaphylaxis. Definitely could have helped him at times if he could take them. I don't remember having any bad side effects to this. It was years ago and I took it for arthritic hands. That's the only place I had arthritis at 40.

Cap, that's me too. Anaphylaxis from many medications. Many NSAIDS also. It has me scared and worried, and at the same time praying it will not show me I am allergic to it. If I do show the symtoms I then need an Injection Mix of Steroids with Epinephrine, and a can of Coke after Injected. Don't know why the can of Coke or Pepsi, just that many years ago was told that it needs to be done that way, when it does happen.
