ACTIQ® (oral transmucosal fentanyl citrate) This is Fentanyl.
I looked at their Stocks, and this has not hurt that as of yet. I read up on ACTIQ, it seems there are 2 forms of this. 1 being what is called a Lollipop, and the othere a tablet form. It states proper use is when patients are on a patch for pain, and have pain called break through pain. Then such drug could be used. It's the Lollipop that is used for Cancer Patients, the Tablet for others on a patch. This company has been paying out Millions of dollars, on different cases, one in Washington, which most the money was paid to the State, and not the Patients, go figure that out, for I don't understand that one at all.
Here is some information on the Company;

My friend was using the patch for pain at the time of her death.
Her family has hired a personal injury attorney,
Robin's 6 children and her spouse live near by.
Bummer, I am so sorry about your friend. We as IW are in danger all the time. I have never gone through anything this scary but I did have a pyschiatrist prescribe a drug for me for depression that has red flags all over in conjunction with my BP meds. My pharmacist wasn't in when I filled it(they had a sub) and he gave it to me. My PCP and me went crazy for over a month trying to figure out why all of a sudden my BP was sky high. I was put out of PY everytime I went ( had the fear that WC would give me grief about not going) . finally when I went to refill it my pharmacist wouldn't fill it and called the DR. Needless to say the Dr. wouldn't treat me anymore. BUT at the next hightest dosage could have killed me.
Yesterday in the Philadelphia Inquirer there was an article about law suits on drugs being prescribed "out of box" I believe it's called. When not prescibed for their authorized use they can kill people and have.

When my friends huband found her that morning in bed not breathing he called 911. She was taken to the local ER.
I had a doctor's appointment that morning at the hospital and walked passed the ER and found my friend's husband standing on thre doorway crying.
The doctor's had just pronounced my friend dead.
oh Bummer, I am so sorry for the loss of your friend.
It may have been fate, that you were there, when your friend's family needed you at that moment.

Bummer, your friend Robin was on the patch for some kind of pain. May I ask what was wrong with her that she needed such a strong pain medication for.
Hi Bad Boy
Robin had a number of medical problems, among them she suffered migraines that would leave her drained for days. I do believe that is why she was being treated at this pain clinc.
BBBB I think why the state received the money was because most pts receiving the medication were on medicare/ medicaid, and the state paid for the drugs. So they were just getting there money back plus more.
Bummer I am so sorry for your loss and for her family. I'll pray for all of you. Backache
