Well everyone it looks like WC is not messing with me at this point. After what they did to me when I was trying to get my MRI approved and they just continued to take their time and delay me I did the following. I used my Medicare to pay for the MRI as the pain was so bad I could not continue to wait on WC. After I received the copy of my MRI I sent it to my lawyer with a note telling her how they were delaying me and I had used my Medicare.
Next thing you know I got a copy of a letter she sent to WC about their delay. She instructed them to pay the place that did my MRI immediately and she enclosed the copy of the MRI. She told them that they could see the medical evidence in the MRI report that this test was necessary and I could not wait any longer due to the severe pain I was in. She told them that Medicare can come in and take a lein on the case and Medicare could come back on WC directly.
I think as an effect of her sending this letter to them they are not playing with me. They have approved my appointment with the Neurologist on Tues. Jan. 27 and the EMG/NCV testing I will be having done and they have also approved the next appointment with my Neurosurgeon on Feb. 3.
I have to say, I am very surprised but I guess the letter from my lawyer might have set them straight. Boy, the lawyer letter came to me by surprise. I guess when we think our lawyers are not working for us they really are. The only communication I had with my lawyer was the MRI report and the short note I wrote her about filing it on my Medicare and poof, she took over from there.
I am thankful that I have had such a great lawyer for almost 10 years now as they have done a wonderful job of representing me. Having a good lawyer is half the battle when dealing with WC.
Mom is still in the nursing home and she was starting to do better but it seems now she is having some setbacks due to the pain she is in. I go everyday to visit and try to do something special for her. Today I am going with my shampoo, blow dryer and curling iron to do something with her hair. Again, my sister that was yelling about the meds she is on is also a hair dresser. You would think that she could do something with Mom's hair when she rarely goes for a visit. No, she sits there all dressed up, hair done, and fingernails and toes done and visits looking all pretty and does nothing. Right now my Mom looks like those people in the nursing home that has no family to check on them looking like as old dish rag. She has never once even brought anything to Mom for her to snack on. My better half bought a small refergerator for her room so she can keep things she likes to snack on. Not one time has my sister tried to contribute anything or even wash a piece of clothes for mom. I get so mad I could just shake her real good. When mom will be gone I will probably tell her off when she goes to shedding her tears. GRRRRRRR, gritting my teeth as I type this.
Well, I will keep you all posted as to what the Neurologist has to say when I see him on Tuesday. God Bless all of you and thank you for allowing me to vent my anger.
