Well everyone it looks like WC is not messing with me at this point. After what they did to me when I was trying to get my MRI approved and they just continued to take their time and delay me I did the following. I used my Medicare to pay for the MRI as the pain was so bad I could not continue to wait on WC. After I received the copy of my MRI I sent it to my lawyer with a note telling her how they were delaying me and I had used my Medicare.

Next thing you know I got a copy of a letter she sent to WC about their delay. She instructed them to pay the place that did my MRI immediately and she enclosed the copy of the MRI. She told them that they could see the medical evidence in the MRI report that this test was necessary and I could not wait any longer due to the severe pain I was in. She told them that Medicare can come in and take a lein on the case and Medicare could come back on WC directly.

I think as an effect of her sending this letter to them they are not playing with me. They have approved my appointment with the Neurologist on Tues. Jan. 27 and the EMG/NCV testing I will be having done and they have also approved the next appointment with my Neurosurgeon on Feb. 3.

I have to say, I am very surprised but I guess the letter from my lawyer might have set them straight. Boy, the lawyer letter came to me by surprise. I guess when we think our lawyers are not working for us they really are. The only communication I had with my lawyer was the MRI report and the short note I wrote her about filing it on my Medicare and poof, she took over from there.

I am thankful that I have had such a great lawyer for almost 10 years now as they have done a wonderful job of representing me. Having a good lawyer is half the battle when dealing with WC.

Mom is still in the nursing home and she was starting to do better but it seems now she is having some setbacks due to the pain she is in. I go everyday to visit and try to do something special for her. Today I am going with my shampoo, blow dryer and curling iron to do something with her hair. Again, my sister that was yelling about the meds she is on is also a hair dresser. You would think that she could do something with Mom's hair when she rarely goes for a visit. No, she sits there all dressed up, hair done, and fingernails and toes done and visits looking all pretty and does nothing. Right now my Mom looks like those people in the nursing home that has no family to check on them looking like as old dish rag. She has never once even brought anything to Mom for her to snack on. My better half bought a small refergerator for her room so she can keep things she likes to snack on. Not one time has my sister tried to contribute anything or even wash a piece of clothes for mom. I get so mad I could just shake her real good. When mom will be gone I will probably tell her off when she goes to shedding her tears. GRRRRRRR, gritting my teeth as I type this.

Well, I will keep you all posted as to what the Neurologist has to say when I see him on Tuesday. God Bless all of you and thank you for allowing me to vent my anger.

I'm so Glad that things are Starting to Turn for You as far as w/c Goes MJC!! As far as Your Mom goes, I Lost Both My Mother and Father In Laws over the Last Couple of Years, and there is Always that One Sibling that doesn't Help, and Drives the Rest Crazy! She will Appreciate what You are going to do for Her, and that's what Counts!! My Best to You, and I Hope All Continues to go Well!!Smile
So glad MJC that you are getting the help you need....dont worry about your sister our heavenly father sees all and rewards all...you do your best and leave the rest in his hands
MJC>>>>As always it's wonderful to hear from you. I am so glad you were able to get your MRI and things are turning around.

As far as Mom goes I am with Limbo and Jayne. There is always one who does it all and one who does nothing. As Jayne said the Lord knows. I have used this thought for many years when it comes to homeless folks. I give what I have when I see them. If I could buy them food I would if not they got $$. My husband would always tell me that they were not going to buy food with the $$. I told him a long time ago the God knows what I gave and God knows what they did with it. Keep your heart clean and try not to think about your sister's. Vent anytime. It is frustrating. You're a good person and that's all that matters.

Hugs,

It is good to hear that things are taking a turn for the better with WC, Sounds like your attorney is right on top of things.
I have seen many famlies, that have a loved one in hospitals or nursing homes act the same way, there is usually one that takes charge while the others just stand by and look good, I guess you can be thankfull that your sis even cares enough to visit. Maybe that is just her, and she dosen't know what to do or how to act. She may need some direction or suggestions from you. Can't hurt to talk to her. She will start to help you with mom or she won't, Good luck with your WC and May you have angles watching over you and your mom........
MJC,

I'm so glad that you were able to "go around" wc, and get the needed tests! Pat that lawyer of your's on the back for sending them the bill and getting on their case!

As far as your mom goes....everyone is correct, there always seems to be one in the family that simply can't deal with it, or decides not to. You aren't going to change her....even if you get angry w/ her. besides that, it's not worth it, as one's family dwindles as we get older...so we must keep close, every member that we have left.

As long as YOU do all you can for her.....YOU & HUBBY will never be sorry, or feel the guilt that your sis will carry for the rest of her life. she will be the one who will always wish she could go back , and do things over.
Prayers for you & family MJC ! LillySmile
Hello Family,

I saw the neurologist today and he did the EMG. My Lord, I was ready to fly off the table from the pain. He was supposed to do both legs as that is what the surgeon wanted but the doc told me he was sparing me. He could see what he needed with just one leg and there was no need to put me through the pain of doing the right leg. I have nerve compression on the L5-S1 nerve root. He confirmed that it goes hand in hand with the MRI results and I do need surgery. I can barely put any weight on my left leg to walk from the pain. Well, I see the neurosurgeon on the 3rd of Feb. therefore we will see more on that date. Take care everyone and God Bless all of you.

I am being scheduled for a nerve conduction test. Was yours for both legs?

My test is for the right leg, I have lumbar problems L5 SI.

I haven't had a MRI since April 09 and it was without contrast but did show 3 buldging disc. My the discogram I have a marked grade 4 disc disruption or leaky disc at L5
MJC, I just wanted to say I think every family has "one of those sisters". I know we do. Take care
