Y'all know the kind of crap that I have been going through since February with getting anything done on my right hand/arm/shoulder..especially since it was denied as a WC claim.

Back in October, the WC IC attorney and mine decided the day before my contested claim hearing that I should get an MRI of my shoulder and elbow and if anything appeared wrong in them that my claim was to be immediately accepted. And I've done nothing but wait since then for someone to call and schedule the MRI.

Yesterday I had my monthly appointment with my WC Dr in Dallas. He wasn't very happy when I told him that yet another month had gone by and still no MRI. He must have lit a fire under someone as I received a call at about 5:30 last night and will be getting both MRI's at 10:30 tomorrow morning. The fun part.. I have to drive clear to Arlington..further than my WC Dr. So I figure I will have to leave no later than 7:30 in the morning. UGH !!!!!!!!!!

I thought that things were supposed to slow down after the holidays.. not get more hectic. Sunday I had to drive round trip (278 miles) to OKC airport to get #2 dumbson home to Michigan in time for school Monday, yesterday it was a roundtripper (238.76 miles) to Dallas, this afternoon I have all kinds of errands I have to run as well as an appointment with the Dr that will be doing my SCS if approved by insurance and then tomorrow a roundtripper (according to yahoo maps 260 miles) to Arlington. I guess that the old saying "No rest for the weary (or is that wicked??)" will still stand true. Thankfully some one smart came up with cruise control on cars, or I would never make it with having RSD in both legs.

heres hoping for you Angel,I was lucky to have Bill home to drive me I couldnt have done it on my own
Good luck with the MRI Hun. It always amazes me that as soon as we get hurt at work they say Oh that was a pre-existing condition.........Well why the heck didn't it hurt until I injured myself at work???????? I also don't know why the Dr's take so long getting things done. I have had two IME's canceled in the last month because the Dr's are on vacation........Didn't they know this prior to making the appointments???????????????
I wish I had the Answers for You UA, Life Surely can Bite You in the A** Quicker than a Rattle Snake can Strike at Times!! Just Hang in there, it has to Slow Down Sometime, and Best of Luck with Your MRI!!!Wink
angel wish I had known you were in okc sunday, i had to go there sunday, tuesday and yesterday, we could have met for lunch or just to chat.my daughter was in the hospital all week just got released yesterday.
wish you well angel and hope all turns out well.
Hang in there Angel! At least the doc shook the bushes and got your MRI in gear!
The drive distance seems a bit ridiculous....especially with your problems.....but hopefully the proof will show up...and THEN, you can relax and slow down!
I'll keep you in my prayers, Have a safe trip! LillySmile
Best of luck angel.

I can't imagine the driving you do!

Most of my doctor appointment are 45 miles away, 90 miles round trip and with the neuropathy issues going on it isn't an easy trip!
I knew that things were just getting to good to be true. I had to get refills on all my scrips Wednesday after seeing pain management, so dropped them off and went home as they were quite busy and I was told it would be an hours wait. So about 5:45, I went to pick them up and was told that my prescription insurance had been cancelled on the 31st of December. Of course, it was to late to do anything about it, as the company that does our insurance is on the east coast. But I still came home and made several calls to voice mail and raised hell. I could just see myself starting withdrawal symptoms while on my trip to Arlington. Luckily I placed the calls to the right people and by 7:45 central time Thursday morning, I got a call that told me my insurance had been updated and to go pick up my meds. Which was great, except I was already 30 minutes from home.

I actually had my first open MRI yesterday. Those machines are kind of neat. But I would love to kick the crud out of the technician that did the films. The one on my shoulder was ok..other than the way he had me positioned hurt my lumbar spine like crazy. And when it came time for the one of my elbow..he had me lay partially on my stomach and partially on my right side. He wanted me to extend my right arm straight up above my head, palm up. I told him that was the reason why I was there to get an MRI..I couldn't raise my arm above my head. SO the dumbf--- grabs my hand and elbow and jerks my arm up, puts my palm up in the air, puts one pillow under my elbow and says, "Don't move" I was in tears 30 minutes later when he was done and it took me a good 10 minutes to get my arm to go back down to my side. Needless to say, I have been up all night in pain as I am taking nothing at the moment that helps my arm.

To top this all off, I get on the puter to start my son's taxes this morning ( I always do his and e-file them..which can't be done till the 16th) but I can have them to where all I have to do is push one button and send them. Any way, there was a notice about a change in mileage for medical. Yep, they dropped mileage reimbursement as of the first from .585 cents a mile to a measly .24 cents a mile. That's a big time cut and hardly makes it worth claiming. I was getting around $130 a trip..now will get just over $57.00. And since I started having to go to DFW to be seen I have had to have a major tune up, new brakes, new suspension and 4 new tires on my car. I've put over $800 in repairs on my car just so I can sit and fight for what I know is rightfully mine. I still haven't received a dime in travel reimbursement and depending on how my case goes, I may never see anything for all the wear and tear on my car as well as myself.

I go back to see my WC dr next Wednesday. All of a sudden they are wanting to run all kinds of tests and I will be getting an EMG/NCS on my arm. I know beyond a reasonable doubt that something will show up on it, as I had one back in '05 and it showed problems. I guess it won't be long before I go from STD to WC and then get to fight STD to be placed back on it for the RSD in my legs so that I can get the SCS if I decide that is what I want to do. Yippee skippeee ..the fun never ends. But thanks all for your replies. I will keep you updated as I know more.

I would have loved to have met up with you Halftrak. Although I didn't get into OKC until about 3:30 as son's flight didn't leave till 5:30. It was definitely a long drive back. But then, you probably had just as far to go on your return trip home. One of these days when the weather is better, we will have to make plans to meet halfway.. maybe on a weekend or something when we could stay overnight and not have to make the whole trip in one day.

I hope that your daughter is okay !!!!
