I recently purchased a new laptop. I have not removed it from the box yet, because I am trying to locate some info.
The one that I purchased has the AMD Athlon x2. I am trying to find the diffence between it and Intel Core 2 Duo. I am not a gamer. I only use the laptop for web surfing, school and the occasional Pogo.
Any input is appreciated.
AQA, Would love to be able to help you out,,, Now if you need a Virus, etc Iam your gal. That I do know about. LOL Congrats on your new purchase.
LOL Tuffy, NO, I do not need a virus. However; if I get one, I do know to contact you.
I am tired of having to put this one in the refrigerator when it gets to hot. I was able to buy the one I did, buy appying for an in store credit card that has 18 months no interest. The one that I got has a 17 inch screen and the other one has a 15 inch screen. I am just trying to decide if it is worth spending the extra $50.00 and going to a smaller screen. To get the Intel Core 2 Duo.
Take Care
AQA, SAY WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In the refrig?????????
Have you forgotten what is written below my screen name???????
When this one gets to hot it slows down a great deal. So in true redneck fashion, I found a way to take care of it. It generally takes between 15 and 30 minutes in the ice box and then it is back to normal.
UUUAAAAAA HUHHHH Right,,,,,,,,,,,, Do you want to buy a bridge??????? LOL
AQA, In my opinion you can't go wrong with an AMD Processor. I am also not a "gamer", but I do some rather extensive video work, and my video machine in the office is an AMD Athlon Duo Core. Its a great machine. AMD was an early chip innovator, and while Intel makes a good product, I believe them to be overpriced for the performance offered.

By the way, if your computer slows that much when hot I would worry about the hard drive..... Make the switch quick.
I do think like ADMIN, the only difference is the cost. While all my computers do have the AMD's in them. My concern for going to a smaller screen, would make me unhappy. But, that again is up to the user. Ever time I buy new or up-grade the screen gets bigger and flater... LOL...

Sounds like my butt>>>badboy
