I work for our wonderful airline industry in California and after the first of the year, the company is reducing their work force and cutting us back in hours per week. I was injured in Oct. 2008 working 27 1/2 hrs/wk. I'm still working on a "light-duty" status but that only lasts for 90 days. After that I'm out of work on disability. I have "I-Time" hours I'll be paid 100% of my pay until it expires (on an hourly wage) through the company. In Jan. 2009 the company is cutting us back to 16 hrs/wk. My roommate seems to think the company has to pay me the 27 1/2 hrs throughout my recovery from my injury because that's how much I was working when injured. Even though the rest of the staff is being reduced to 16 hrs, does the company owe me the extra hours?

i think so as when i was injured they had to pay me 66% of what i was making at the time i was injured.but not knowing ur state i cant tell you for sure as every state has different laws on work comp.but i still think they should be paying you based on the hours you were working.
I'm with Hurt. I don't see why even if the Co. closed you would be involved. You are paid by the IC for your injuries.

that depends on weather or not you have been returned to full duty or not......are you at MMI? and back to full duty or are you at home getting TTD or are you back to work on lite duty?if you are off on TTD on back on lite duty I believe you will continue to get your full 27 1/2 hrs but if you have been returned to full duty you will get to work the same hours as the others.....1171 will be along to get the answer for you but if you could give more info it would help

it depends on your medical disability status. if you are temporarily disabled and you have been released to light work you may be eligible for wage loss but not if your disability is permanent or you were released to full duty without any work restrictions.
Sorry Riley..I must have misunderstood your post. You asked if this would affect you through your recovery......I took that to mean you had not returned to work and were still recovering. Sorry for the confusion.
