well i couldnt sleep and was watching the news, then started reading todays paper, then i stopped.after reading about how many area people are going to lose there jobs just before christmas,400 here,500 more there and on and on.its sickening to read and hear this day in and day out.i feel so bad for these people there loseing there jobs and the government is handing out billions to the banks, the auto makers like its candy.i understand we have to keep the banks and auto dealers going or we will lose more jobs but they are the ones that put them selves in this position.i sure hope someone can get this turned around before get in deep, deep trouble.i kept telling the wife it was going to get bad and now shes seeing it happen her work is getting slow and she works for two drs, there even getting worried.thats my thoughts for the day now whats yours????
Hurt- I know that it worrys you but things will turn around it is just going to take a while. We are also watching the lay-offs, Catapillar is talking of laying off 1000 people in the plant here as of Christmas eve. We are just praying that John is above the lay off line.
Hurt...it is very discouraging reading and hearing the news about all the lay off's. I understand exactly what you are saying. I truly dislike knowing that people are loosing their jobs and during this month, that is even worse. This economy crisis is not going to be good for any of us, and we must believe that it will turn around. I think our new president is very smart and organized..he is building a great team so lets give him a chance to move this thing forward...love Red
Hurt...I also feel horrible when I hear these stories. So many people, so many families. I have been giving in all different directions. At least trying to feed people. The economy is very frightening right now but as Red said we have to believe it will turn around. I have faith in God that this team that will be leading our country are the best of the best. Keep praying.

RNvic...my brother-in-law used to work for CAT in Peorria, IL. (spelling? on city). He went through the big strike in the mid or late 70's. He loved working there. Not too long after the strike they ended laying a bunch off and he was one of them. He always said that was the best job he ever had and really missed working there. I hope yours is above the cut-off line. Best wishes for you.
My Husband's work just cut off overtime, and rumors of layoffs are floating around.Thank God my shopping is all done.As My Mom always says "If there is a will there is a way"
things here are the same at least you cant tell a difference......but the news has said that 3 of the 5 big plants in ft smith will be losing some jobs....Gas is down to 139 a gallon.....
drove by the unemployment office and boy they were packed standing in line out the door.that was a sad sight to see this time of year.
wow i just read that the auto bailout bill died in the senate thats going to hurt alot of people and jobs.it looks like were in for a hell of a bumpy ride.hold on its going to get rough.
I heard that also. Last I heard they are now asking for a part of the 700,000,000 bail out money from the president. I live right outside of Philadelphia so this doesn't actually affect me but the city's Mayor has taken a pay cut and asked all city officials to do the same. Gas is $1.79. So many lay-offs. It's sad. We all know. We've been there pain and all.
