I am a postdoctoral (pre-licensure) fellow in clinical psychology in Miami-Dade County, Florida. I was recently approached by a psychologist at the county/University hospital. She is interested in my working under her supervision doing psychodiagnostic evaluations and individual/group/family psychotherapy, much the same way I did as a pre-doctoral intern in the same institution.

There seems to be an issue, however, regarding billing workers comp patients for these services, as I am not yet licensed. As an intern, I conducted an array of services, all of which were billable, under the supervision of the licensed provider. In this case, the psychologist would oversee my work, and cosign all my notes/reports/billing vouchers and submit for reimbursement for the department under her name/license.

We have been researching this issue and it seems to be quite perplexing. Is there any way I can work in this capacity and provide billable services to workers comp patients? Thank you for your assistance.
