I need a Anti Virus program for my computer. My sister told me about a free one she uses but I forgot what it was, I do not want to have to buy one, can anyone help??????
Try http://www.cnet.com:
here's the page address with the free downloads for anti virus:

http://www.cnet.com/1770-5_1-0.html?quer...s&tag=srch

they list 2, AVG Antivirus 8 and Avast Antivirus 4.7 Home Edition. they have a download link on the page.
I can't recommend free software, but IMHO the best commercial av program is Computer Associates e-Trust Anti Virus. It is around $30, but the license allows you to protect 3 computers. It is what we use in the office machines, and we've never had a problem. The only time we did was on a laptop that the av had expired.

Remember, you get what you pay for....

I have been using Avast for quite some time now with no problems. You shouldn't have to pay for a program
Use
Avast for your antivirus (register every 15 months)
SpywareBlaster for your spyware (free version, u run it and update as u use it)

Both for free and they use minimal resources so as not to slow your computer down

Hope this helps

In addition if you were to use FireFox as your browser instead of IE you may cut down on your viruses and spyware potential
Tuffy...if none of the above work, let me know and I will talk to Del for you...love Red
I have always used Norton Antivirus and have had good luck. You can download a free trial but only good for 15 days, then you have to buy it to continue use. Here is the link.

Bad Bad Boy, Bad Boy

If you are running Windows you definitely need an Antivirus program. If you have an Apple computer then being without an antivirus program is OK

Just talked to Tuffy and she tried to down load a antivirus program and her computer crashed. So she eaid eh will not be on for a while.
