Well guys, yep I did it, went shopping at 4 in the morning, started out at penneys then headed for walmart.Got a lot of good buys, then something crazy happened, was trying to head up to the cashier to pay for my goods and this girl kept ramming my cart, mind you wall to wall people and couldn't move at the moment, now keep in mind that some of you that have met me, I am pretty happy go lucky, well after the fourth time of her ramming my cart, I told this young girl, "Hey girl, I got up at 3 am this morning, have not had any coffee yet and if you ram my cart one more time I will take you outside"Now I must have looked pretty serious cause this girl turned all the way around and just faded in the crowd.That was my fun for the day.Hope all you shoppers that were out and about had fun too. halftrak

I was at our local Wal Mart when the store open at 5:00 this morning.
No shopping carts were to be found, my uncle & daughter went with me to help with the large size items on my list. We shopped until our arms were full and we could carry no more, then we paid for the items, and took them to the car, then back in the store for more shopping.
The 3rd time in the store we found a shopping cart, which made things much easier.
I did lots of sitting on the benches in the waitting area while the others use the list I made to shop.
I was organized, using the sale flyer I wrote out each item I wanted to purchase along with the sale price, and only purchased the items on my list.
By doing this I was able to stick to the amount I allowed for shopping.
My daughter picked me up at 8 am to go to walmart this morning and we had no issues at all...was just a typical day. This is the first time in my life that I have ever went out on a black friday...so didn't know that I should expect something different. Brandi bought some toys for her three kids, me I bought camera cards for Del. Just a same ole same ole day in NJ.

You could not pay me enough, or even pay for my purchases, to get me to go shopping today......... I stayed at home and put up my tree, and enjoyed left overs.

work in retail. I worked for wal mart for many years. I do not miss the crowds anymore. There is no way my old body could handle it anymore. I am so glad I work in a store where we do not have all that pushing and shoving to get an item. As frail and weak as this old body is I would never be able to handle it anymore. You guys have got be be brave soles to venture out like that.
What was unfortunate is a Walmart employee was trampled to death this morning trying to open the doors. I feel so bad for their family.
In Palm Desert (which is about 30 miles from me) 2 male shoppers shot and killed each other after an argument broke out, presumably over a toy of some kind. People just suck these days!!!
HT - you are kinder than Jayne and I...I would have rammed her cart so hard no matter how much it hurt my body that she would have found herself outside, LMAO!

Halftrak , did you get your coffee when you got home? I would have needed more than that
Hubby and I had a return to make in Walmart and another purchase to make in another store. The price was so unbelievable that we had to do it. NEVER AGAIN! Tuffy I'm with you. My tree is also up. My granchildren did most of it on Thanksgiving night and myyoungest helped me finish yesterday. Our Walmart was a madhouse. I used to shope all the time by myself and take my grand old time from store to store on Black Friday when I was working. I live at a much slower pace now and I guess just can't do it.
Monster....that's just horrible. I remember years ago a similar incident around here when Cabbage Patch dolls first came out.

We tried to go shopping on Friday, got though Sears and started down the mall and I got to tried and we had to leave. It took all day to get over it. Will not try that again. John said he will only take me places that have wheel chairs from now on. But went to my sisters after and while the guys went to cut firewood I took a nap. Got up to a wonderful dinner. Ate to much and took another nap,but had a good time.
