I just Wanted to Take a Moment, being as Veterans Day is just Around the Corner, to Thank Each and Everyone who has Served to Protect Our Freedom, and Their Families. My Son was a Sea Bee, and Served 2 Years until they found Out that too Many Years of Football had Damaged His Knees, and they Released Him on a Medical Discharge. They told Him in Gulfport that if the Injury had Happened in the Military they would Fix them, but since the Injuries showed Age, they would not take Responsibility. He Passed All Pre-Tests and Graduated Boot, but After "A" School his Knees Really Started Acting up. Every Day a Soldier Dawns His or Her Uniform and Heads Out to Perform Their Duty, whether at Home or Abroad, they put Their Life in Danger to Protect Us, and the Freedom We Share. And in the Background are the Families who have the Worry and Fear that Their Loved One will Return Safe. To All of You Thank You from the Bottom of My Heart, You are All Hero's in My Eyes!!Smile
Thank-You Still In Limbo. Me and a great many others that I know, served for various reasons. Regaurdless of the reasons, we never did it to be thanked, but it is nice to hear. I wish a great many more would serve. I learned and grew up a geat deal while in service. Thank you.

we are a military family. My 4 oldest have served or are still serving today....My Husband retired 16 years ago....we took our 5th daughter in to get her Military ID card it is a rite of passage for military children when they turn 10....she looked around while we explained the importance of giving back to her country....when she took her ID from the sgt she told her I will be in the military someday I will do my part...We have hopes she will get in the USAF academy.....We as a family are proud to serve, protect, defend this great country
I also would like to say a special to those that have served and are serving for our country.

I also would like to say a special thank you to the families of those that have served our country. The spouses and children of our servicemen and servicewomen make many sacrifices in their daily lives so their loved one can serve their country.

And I would like to say a special thank you to 3 members of my family that are serving or have served their country in past years.

My uncle Wayne, who served in Korea and was injured in the line of duty.

My brother-in-law Ron, who served in Vietnam and other countries, and most recently in Special Forces.

And my niece Amber, who is a member of the Nation Guards and on her way to Bagdad.
This is a great post, in my city we had our Veteran's Day Parade yesterday,as some of you know my nephew just returned from Iraq,I was so proud of him as he rode by on the float with all his fellow soldiers and he waved at his family standing there in the cold with this big smile on his face.I kept thinking about when he was about 2 years old and I used to push him in his little red car, that same smile was on my mind,God ,I love that young man and Proud to have him as my nephew,So Thank You Dear Nephew of mine and all the young men and women who are in the service whether you are at home or in some far away country,Stay Safe, We Are All Proud Of You,Halftrak
Thank you Still for this post. Thank you for remembering the many who have served in the Armed Forces. As AQA said, I never joined for thanks, but it does feel nice to know that I did something that has helped our society. The first thing learned is the reason why we are there...we are there to serve, protect and honor our country 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. I truly felt honored to be able to do this. I was not your average as I was 33 years old, married for 16 years, and had three children, ages 14, 13, and 10 when I went to Officer Indoctrination School. I have never looked back with any regret, and still believe it was the best decision (other than getting married and having a family) that I have ever made. My son served in the regualar airforce for 12 years, and now in the reserves for the past 2 years, my husband for 4 years during the Viet Nam years, and my son in law in the Marines for 4 years. I served until diagnosed with MS, for almost 10 years. I was going to do 20 but things do change. My son is being commissioned as an officer in the air force in January 2009. We are all invited to his ceremony. I can't wait. He has served in the gulf 3 or 4 times now and even through I want to do our part, I am hoping the last was his last. Love Red
My father retired from the Air force and served 21 years. My brother served 8 years in the Air Force and I served 4 years in the Army. I have been around the military all my life. I too would like to thank all who have served and their families for the sacrifices they have made. I always felt serving in the military was not a duty but an honor and am proud to have served. The young men and women that have made that choice have made their families proud and I salute each and every one of them. God Bless our troops and our Veterans!
Thanks Still for remembering all those who have served and protected our beautiful country. If it wasn't for the many men & women who served our country would not have been as safe as we are now.
I too would like to thank everyone and their families for serving to help keep our country free. My father was a retired veteren and many other family members of mine. Happy Veterens day to everyone out there and let's bring out family members home and safe!!! I am proud to be an american : )
Yes thanks to all veterans of all wars. Thank you to those serving now for protecting my freedom and this wonderful country of ours. God bless our troops.
