Same to you Halftrak...I can't wait to see my grandchildren. Talked to them last night and they are sooooooooooo excited. They like dressing up , couldn't care less about the candy. Now that's where their Daddy comes in.........or maybe even Pop Pop. He gets his Chemo today and they give him a big bad of steroids before hand so I think hubby might even be trick or treating this year.

In my town we have trick or treet down main street. The stores are open downtown and hand out candy to the children. They also have a chance to win a new bicycle given away by the local chamber of commerence.
Real Story of Halloween
- In 1584, after French explorer Jacques Cartier explored the St. Lawrence region of North America, he reported finding "gros melons." The name was translated into English as "pompions," which has since evolved into the modern "pumpkin."
- Pumpkins are low in calories, fat, and sodium and high in fiber. They are good sources of Vitamin A, Vitamin B, potassium, protein, and iron.
- The largest pumpkin ever grown was 1,689 pounds. It was grown by Joe Jutras of North Scituate, Rhode Island.
- Pumpkin seeds should be planted between the last week of May and the middle of June. They take between 90 and 120 days to grow and are picked in October when they are bright orange in color. Their seeds can be saved to grow new pumpkins the next year.

The hours here are from 5 pm till 8 pm, I don't get to many trick or treaters, as I live in the country, and it it to far between houses for the kids. I sure miss all the kids......... Happy Halloween everyone.
