I just wanted to say that since finding this forum I have enjoyed reading all the posts from the political discussions to the funny jokes and the recent recipes. I noticed something special from the first time I found this site and that was the caring and compassion you all have for each other. There are days at a time that I do not leave my house and the only contact with others is on this site and I want you all to know how much I appreciate all the topics and discussions. Everyone on this site is fighting a battle either their injury or that monster called workmans comp. With Thanksgiving coming up I would like to hear what everyone is thankful for.
I am thankful for my wonderful husband who has been supportive thru these hard times brought on by my injuries, for my wonderful son who has grown into such a fine young man, for my wonderful friends who listen and help when they can, for my neighbors who always ask how I am when I see them outside, for the brave young men fighting for my freedom overseas may god bless them and keep them safe , and most of all for my wonderful god who blesses me everyday. Oh and for my beautiful little chichuachua who brings me such joy!
soonermom what an excellent thought and really needed I think right now. However, I am always told that I write to long..so where do I begin on what I am thankful for without it being to long. I have so much to be thankful for. First and formost is always my family...my husband who sticks with me through thick and thin...supports me in all my crazy undertakings, and allows me to be me. My children are my life..and the grand children, well lets just say that they are the best of the best of what my life is about. The other day my grand daughter who is 3 years old spent the day with me. I was showing her how to make sand bottles. Suddenly out of the blue, she looks at me and says, "grandma, I love you." So what don't I have to be thankful for. Then there is my health. I have cared for a lot of women with MS who are in much worse shape than I am in. I believe that all the prayers of my family and friends help me to stay healthy. Next...there's all of you. We can disagree and yet when we are together face to face, family we are. I love you all so much and thank you for what you give to me everyday. You give me joy, love, support, friendship and lots of information. You are all the best. I don't have a lot of friends in my area since I do not work so I am not out there in society, but I always know I have all of you if I need to cry, vent, scream, or just be there to listen which gives me a reason to survive. Thank you all...and thank you soonermom for your intiution that said we need to think about all the things that we are thankful for. Love Red

Thank you soonermon for this thread. I along with Red type alot. LOL Imagine if we wrote each other letters.Wink

I am thankful that my husband is cancer free and pray that he stays as healthy as he is now. I am thankful that I sign my settlement papers tomorrow and will be out of the WC system. I am thankful for my employer who kept me employed and paid for my health insurance for almost 3 years so even when my claim was denied I got treatment. Tomorrow I will retire along with signing my settlement. My health is good. My pain is controlled.

I thank God everyday for my children, although one is with Him and not me, and for my wonderful granchildren. I had a PTSD flare up lately and have been crying alot. My 6 year old grandaughter just jumped up and put those little arms around my neck. I know what you mean Red.

I am thankful that I live in the USA and no where else. I am thankful and pray daily for our troops that have fought for my freedom.

Last but not least I thank God for this forum. I have joined different ones over the years but this one by far is full of good friends, lots of companionship. I as Red said have very few friends left since I haven't worked. Alot of my friends were co-workers and some have died, so as soonermom says there are days this is the only contact I have with the outside world.

God bless all of you.
