We are a small not-for-profit corporation located in New York State that has been in existence since 1929. We have no employees nor do we expect to hire any in the future. The executives and board members are volunteers and are not paid any compensation. Are we required to have Workers Compensation insurance?
you can elect to have your volunteers covered. If so, you would need to have a policy otherwise not necessary.
you can find out more coverage information here

I guess there is a need to have an insurance. Reward the volunteers with this gift. Godbless!!

Interesting question. I would think just to protect your corporation that you should have some type of coverage in case of injury to one of your volunteers.

A call to your local provider will help you with that one.

Thanks for your help. I spoke to our insurance provider & he told us that it wasn't necessary to maintain coverage in our situation.
