I am starting a new s-corp in SC. The company will consist on my partner and myself - will I need to be covered as an owner? I will be very active in the day to day work in the begining if that matters.

Partners are considered owners of the business and are not automatically included under workers' compensation insurance. They may elect to be covered if they are active in the business and have duly informed their insurance carrier. When a partnership incorporates, all employees are automatically covered, including the owners if they are also employees of the corporation.
