Claim Allowance

Sometimes you just have to let all those things being said to you, to go in one ear, and even out faster of the other ear.
Don't worry about the hearing being continued, and don't worry about the IME.
Just know what you should say at an IME, and what not to offer and and say.
How will I know what to say at an IME? This sounds like a question for my lawyer..

Oksy...that's good info....thanks! Oh, by the way...the 3rd party administrator called and left me a message this morning...the hearing is going to be continued...and the IME is supposed to take place on 7/30/08. Where I don't know..
You don't trust anyone, and show up for that hearing, unless you have been notifed by the Commision first.
This is important... You tell these 3rd party people you talk about that you will be there also. And that you will continue to be there till notified by the commisioner only. These people aren't helpping you, they have and are still trying to deny your claim.
I agree with BB. If you do not have that claim cancelled on paperwork, do not trust them. If you do not show up for that hearing or IME you could possibly lose your benefits for WC due to not showing up.
I would not trust anyone. I also would not cancel due to only a phone call ,and nothing in the mail ,or on paper that it was cancelled. Like you said, you do not even know what day your IME exam is scheduled for yet. You should be receiving something about where, when and time of your IME plenty of time ahead of the exam.
Okay....she called to let me know that they are still gathering my medical records and that she wanted to know if it was okay if she could file with the IC for a continuance. She said that there was a letter mailed to me with the date and time of the IME...I might see it in the mail tomorrow. I checked with my lawyer first before calling the 3rd party back. I have access to the IC website in my state so I can check to make sure that the paperwork for the continuance gets filed....we can do the forms on the IC website here. I can moniter everything by computer pretty much. My lawyer said it's standard procedure for the 3rd party to notify of such a thing...regardless of whether or not I call them back. They are informing me. So...now I'll have to 12 days for IME. I do have a question for you guys though....I think I might have asked it on a different thread...My restrictions were from the doctor at the hospital that my employer sent me to which led to my employer sending me home because "no light duty available". Now I'm not one to complain about time off but if my doctor were to change my restrictions(like right now I am not to be lifting anything over 5 lbs. with one hand) I'd have to go back to my employer to see if they had anything for me within those restrictions. Here's the thing...hands bother me mostly after grabbing, grasping, etc. It's hard to not have to grab something or hold onto something(like the steering wheel while driving) repeatedly. So sitting around the house I try to not use my hands for much....and it helps but I'm getting bored and am wondering if it's feasible to see if I can go back to work even if it's another form of light duty. I bet you're going to tell me the repetitive movements are going to get to me again...and you're probably right. My mom's afraid I'll make it worse again. Any advice guys?
State of OHIO; Carpal Tunnel;
Your calling them 3rd party, and some will get confused by that term. I'm sure you mean the employers Work Comp Insurance Carriers Adjustor is calling you.
Your getting antsie now sitting home, and want to go to work now is what's happening. But hey, think about if they didn't deny your claim, you would be getting proper treatment by now. So, you can give in, and go to work, con your doctor into changing your restrictions and all. But, still your hands are going to sweel, and hurt, and then what?
You need to just calm down, and wait is all. Be patient...
You're absolutely right about "them" being my employer's workers' comp rep., sorry about that..the letter they sent me referred to them as the admistrator's of my employer's workers' compensation. Yes...I am antsy...I imagine I'll rant about this from time to time. I'm used to always being on the go.
Nauticalgurl1, it's nothing new for some of us, for we were all where your at right now at one time.
Rant and rave, we all done that too...
We listen well too...
