Got it in the mail this afternoon... just wish that it had been the DDE's decision ~lol~. But almost as good. After waiting what would have amounted to three weeks Monday, I got the decision back from the TDIW (Texas Division of Injured Workers). Because there was never a treating Dr of record, they could neither approve nor deny my request that the Dr in Ft Worth become my treating Dr. Instead I was given an exception that allows him to become my original treating MD. If it ever comes down to me feeling as if I am not getting the kind of medical treatment that I should be from him, I can still request a change of treating Dr.

Come Monday morning I will be calling his office and start setting up appointments. I can't wait to finally get some testing done so that I can get a dx. And when the DDE comes back in my favor.. staying positive here.. I can't wait to turn in all the bills for reimbursement to the IC and shove it in the adjustor's face that she was wrong in denying me to begin with.

This means less stress which I hope will help the RSD flair that I have been in the past few weeks. Something has to give there before I start gnawing off my own leg. It's crazy when a mix of morphine and percocet can't give any relief.

And now that the shake up is over at Avis Budget..they just forced 40 out of 80 avis agents at our call center to either move to budget trucks or quit. I was lucky enough to be in the upper tier in senority this time and got to choose whether I would stay with Avis or move. I chose Avis and my work hours will now be Wednesday through Sunday, 6 AM to 2:45 pm. I feel bad for the agents below me that weren't given that choice. I will start the new shift on the 7th of June, after taking the prior week off and going and relaxing in east Texas at Caddo Lake. And hopefully getting to meet the furry blue Monster when she comes into my neck of the woods. Talk about some stress busters. ~LOL~.

Now if I can just get some good news from my pain management doctor on Tuesday ~LOL~ I would begin to wonder when lightening was going to strike me.

Hope that y'all had a super Saturday.. and the same for tomorrow.

I'm so happy to hear that good news is finally starting to come in for you girl Smile Hoping to get to meet you but still don't know for sure....I hate being anywhere without my own vehicle, grrrrrr.

You just concentrate on getting better and fighting these SOBS!!!
Such a deal I have for you...

I will concentrate on getting better and winning against these SOB's.. if you will quit fretting about not having a car when you come out here. I don't care if I have to do some driving. Then we can brag to the PA meet group that we got to meet each other... heeheehe.

Okay.. so the prospect of meeting me isn't as much fun as the thought of meeting those other crazies from the family... but hey *Shrugs* what can I say. At least you can assure the others that if they get the chance to meet me to turn and run just as fast as they can the other way... and don't look back !!!!!!! *giggles*

Angel I am so happy for you! Have you tried the Licoderm patches for the RSD? They did help me some. I and I think I have said this before, but you do know never to put ice on it anywhere.? Also there is the ketamine, gabapentin ointment, it helps some people. Have they tried a sympatic nerve block yet? ( wish i could spell, or if not that, at least type, lol).

Anywho, please know I am praying for you

Is the sympathetic nerve block the needle procedure they put in your neck? I was told at my last appt. the doctor was going to set me up for that and I told him i would wait till I see the doctor this month that was looking over my medical records so that i may find out more about what this procedure is all about.

I was told it is to be injected in the front of the neck and it should help with the nerve pain i am having down into my hand.
Good Morning all.... UCA...thisi s great that you are getting great news. I learned quite a bit about RSD from Spring and then I did some research. This is so painful that my heart goes with you. My prayers are with you. I am jelous of you. You are going to meet monster. Sithie,

I had a lumbar sympathetic block the 2nd month I was with the PM. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me. The PM hasn't really bothered trying different meds since he put me on the morphine, percocet, meloxicam and lyrica. All he has done is reviewed what I am taking and upped my lyrica to the highest amount I am allowed to take. When I see him Tuesday, he is talking about adding another med this week (I forgot the name, but it is similar to lyrica) and sending me to another foot/ankle specialist as he feels there is more going on than just the RSD. So I am probably facing another round of x-rays, MRI's and EMG/NCS. I know that there is still the heel spur/ plantars faciatis that no one has addressed yet, but there is more than that.

No one told me not to put ice on my ankle/foot. I had to find out about that no no on an RSD website. In fact, when my ortho was done with me and send me back to work and referred me to the PM Dr, he sent me to work saying that I was to keep my foot elevated when I wasn't walking and to put ice on my foot/ankle if the swelling and pain increased. So being niave about RSD, I followed his directions until I found the info on the web. He must not know much about RSD .. although he referred me to the PM to rule out RSD.

Red,

I had never heard of this monster until it was being discussed here on the board. I read up on it a bit, but didn't understand truly what someone goes through with it until got to feel it for myself. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. I am hoping that one day soon someone will come up with if not a cure, at least something that will help those that have it.

I can't wait to meet Monster. She is such a nut !!! And she deserves some relaxation and enjoyment in her life. At least for a little while.

And while we are at it....wah, wah, wah, wah, wah, wah, wah,wah ,wah,wah........WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH I wanna get in on it too!!! It's not fair that I can't come to PA.. y'all are just to far away for me to travel to at the moment. Y'all better be prepared with lots of pics when you get home.
