Recently I have been making phone calls, e-mailing, and posting on this web site about legislative action the Kansas Coalition for Workplace Saftey is addressing before Kansas Legislatures.

See my post on Kansas Injured Workers.

This morning I received a phone call from Kansas Department of Labor. Kansas Governor Seblius contacted them and requested they call me to assist with my work comp issues.

I shared my story with explaining how the delay in medical treatment of my knees has lead to problems with my back and that I now face bilateral knee replacements along with having nerve pain down my legs.

I was told that the governor and legislators are listening to injured workers.
i can only hope they listen to you and all the other hurt people out there, maybe you opened some eyes.good luck.i know i could use some soon and luck.its time these big companys get what they go coming to them and thats taking care of there hurt people not just firing them or cheating them out of what they have coming to them!
Way to go bummer, good luck and keep us informed, halftrak
Thanks halftrak. I am a parent trainer, training parents of disabled children how to advocate for their disabled child and their family. I do this as a volunteer for the state parent training information under IDEA.

Guess being an advocate is natural to me.
Way to go, you may have truly open doors for others to walk through. Thanks for posting your results.

I'm happy that you got someone to listen. It would be nice if someone could get the governor here to listen. But he's as worthless as breasts on a boar hog and twice as lazy. I'm in ga and the department of labor told me that I needed to contact my attorney that they couldn't help. It is all so sorry that people get hurt and then punished for it. I applaud you and your work.
Well I did get the gov to listen, now we will see what action follows.
Way to go, way to go Bummer.
Way to go Bummer! Your hard work, pain, and suffering may benefit others in the future! Huge hug/pat on back for your efforts! I have read your posts and know the hell that you have been, are going through. Maybe others won't have to endure the same because of you!! And who knows, maybe you'll end up with a cushy government appointment! lol! [/size]
