Has anyone tried taking Yoga for CTS or Tendonitis? I ask for both because I don't know what I actually have.
My muscles are tight, I can't lift my arm to well and when I was in PT they had me doing several stretches so I wonder if Yoga or Pilaties would help eleviate pain and symptoms.
Before you do anything, ask your doctor. I do have a friend who was in a terrible car accident, crushed vertebrae, about 59 years old and did Yoga. Still does it. She's probably more limber and in less pain than I am and I'm 8 years younger and just have herniated discs. It helped her a great deal. But AGAIN, I caution, CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR FIRST!!
Will do. I have heard it's great for pain management but I will ask my doctor before I do anything. Thanks.
If you do start the yoga, I'd love to hear how it works for you. I have been thinking about the same thing.

I've also wondered about accupuncture, if anyone has an insight on that.

Good luck and keep us posted.
I do exercises in the pool . It works wonders stretching out the spine and muscles in deep water. It has really helped with my pain .
Yoga is a good think for almost anyone.
I do stretching excercise daily and was thinking of trying yoga. I believe they have classes on TV if I can find them again I'll put it on here.
[i]Yoga sounds great! Wonder if it would help with my leg/ankle/foot, I bet it would. How do you get WC IC to pay for class? I am about to try getting them to pay for or at least towards a fitness program at a reputable gym. Long shot, but am out of shape and gained 30# due to injury and depression caused by all this. Of course, they don't think it's related! lol!

I have tried acupuncture in the past for a shoulder and neck injury. Worked extremely well, especially for headaches. I was amazed by the whole experience! I was treated by an MD who was a primary care and in a practice that specialized in pain management. He was Chinese and in addition to Accupuncture used several Eastern methods, plants, meditation, etc.

Saw some unbelievable results in both myself and others, particularly in an elderly gentleman, 80's, with a hip injury. We had both been told that we were as good as we were gonna get with conventional medicine, and to suck it up and/or pop a pill. I went figuring what had I to lose, at the point where if someone had told me that if I poured goats blood over my head and danced under a crescent moon would make my headaches go away, I'd have been looking for a butcher! The man with the hip had has a positive experience with it in the past.

My improvement was great, for some things instantaneous relief. For him, unbelievable! He could barely walk when I first saw him, and after the 3 months I went, he had gone from hobbling with walker, to a heavy limp with a cane! (Our appointments over lapped and we would chat.) I asked about him about a year later, and was told he no longer needed cane. His traditional Doc told him that he would always need walker and would get worse! I know some is probably mind over matter, but still need something to get you in a positive frame of mind. Especially when your Doc's have given up on you!!

I recommend acupuncture whenever I can!! You just need to ask around and find a "good" practitioner!

Good luck to you! Let us know how it all pans out!
goats blood and a crescent moon,,,, been there and have tried just about everything else......pool streatching does wonders for me....during the summer we would go to the lake 20 miles away and it was so nice to float and take all the weight off my back and neck..... when I got my settlement one of the things I did do was put in an above ground pool so I could have that feeling several times a day from apr to oct here....it was the best investment in my health we ever did.....during the summer my pain relief id handled by the pool and very few pain meds....but boy howdy during the winter pain pill usage goes way up...My headaches are getting so bad right now that I am gonna go look for a goat if summer doesnt get here soon....
