My ankle and knee were injured from a fall will be 2 years this Feb. I finally got care in May of this year. Of course now the small bones in my foot that were broke have healed and so has my ankle. Now mind you the ankle stays swollen and hurts constantly and the knee sounds like popcorn when I walk...Anyway the Orth sent me to PT and I graduated from it in July. The PT released me back to the Ortho with a seek other treatment order. So PT cannot fix it and the Ortho says surgery is not an option. So finally I have an appt Wed to have it graded. I almost feel I can see light at the end of the tunnel. Or is it maybe a black hole?
Mistreated - I don't know much about things like this but is it possible for them to rebreak the ankle and set it properly or for them to do surgery and replace bones with pins and plates. Your range of motion would probably be shot all to hell but maybe you wouldn't be in so much pain all the time. Just a question, like I said I don't know anything about stuff like this. Maybe one of our nurses will happen along and be able to shed some light on what might possibly be done.

Good luck to you,

Get a second opinion from a major university medical hospital. I have found, and so have many others, that if you don't take charge of your own medical, you get the bare minimum from WC.
