hi , It can come at any time any where. These people are the lowest of the low they will try any trick in the book to try to catch you doing something you should not be doing. But if you are injured there should be nothing to worry about. Just stay within your docs restrictions and who cares if they watch, let them. I have even read one story where they actually drop a dollar or some change by you'r car door and take pics of you bending down to pick it up. Like i said the lowest of the low and God has a special place picked out for them in the future good luck.
P.S. LOL i just thought of something real funny imagine putting a piece of gun on the end of your cane and picking there dollar up and then spend it while they watch you.
Ive not known if it has happened to me yet .. but from others on the forums I have seen ppl talking about right around IME appointments , after you are taken off of work , when its time to go to court , It just depends on what the restrictions are , and I think in my opinion on how much its going to cost the i/w to treat you .. MY guess is the bigger the claim the more they will try ..
remember the dollar costs to the employer and the i/c only hope to make money is to discredit you ..
Make sure you get ALL restrictions on the sheet you are given .. Ive had the doctor give me a sheet that said one thing and when I got the official report It stated alot more restrictions ... Which in my eye is wrong of drs .. But I guess that depends on who is paying the bill .. i guess THat was when I thought doctors cared !

Yes it happens. Depends on the IC, the employer and the nature of the claim. For instance a certain relative of mine handles HR for a rather good sized company. She has told me that on a back injury she almost always requests surveillance. Yes I have told her she's evil but then again she always has been. The best advice is to be up front with the doctors on what you can do and what you do that causes pain etc.. For instance just because you bent over to pick up that dollar does not mean it did not hurt and you may have suffered immensely for it later. Could be that you were so broke because of this crazy comp system that you had no choice but to pick it up and suffer the consequences. If that is the case have it documented by your doctor. On your next visit tell them I bent over to pick up a dollar I found in the street and it caused me so much pain I was in bed for the next 2 days. Or whatever the case may be. I am not saying to make up stories or lie. You should be honest and genuine about it. Generally speaking as long as you are staying within the restrictions which the doctor has given you don't have a problem. My own PTP warned me early on that they had seen several cases where the patient was observed doing things that might be questionable. And yes they do drop change etc.. Often these pictures had been shown to them as a way to discredit the IW. In some cases but very few they agreed and were already aware that the IW was at the very least exagerating their condition. In others they sided with the IW and were able to provide perfectly reasonable explanations for the IW. Not all WC doctors are evil. Then again there are some who are.
remember as well when you see the tape to ask to see the whole tape and not the edited version - if they have filmed you - they will have lots of tape on you and it should be dated on the tape.
I had them watching me but they were always way to obvious about the whole thing .......... like sitting across the street when I came home from work - good thing for living at the end of the block on the corner - they couldn't hide very easy. I even had them drive past a cookout we were having at a cousin's house and I walked up to their vehicle and asked them if there was something I could help them with .......... lol
As long as You stay within Your restrictions, let them film Away!! I have been Injured for Three Years, followed and taped Extensively, been to 11 going on Twelve Hearings, and not One Photo or Piece of film has been entered into Evidence!! If they find You boring, they will move on, they get Bonuses for getting the "Money Shot", someone doing something Wrong, and if Your within your Restrictions, they will be gone. they may stop back from Time to time, but it's Best to ignore them and leave them alone, upsetting them may only make them Work harder to make Your life more Miserable than it already is!! My neighbor said they sent her the video, because she didn't have an attorney. He had to be sitting in someones house as she lives in the middle of the block. He had pictures of her sitting in the garage, getting out of her car, going to the doctor at the home depot and in the grocery store and she never knew they were there. Of course they couldn't do anything with it because she wasn't doing anything. For some reason they think if you are injuried your life stops. I still go to the store i use the motorized baskets, not because i am trying to hide, but because I can't walk in the store for an hour anymore my knee still gives out on me from time to time. Just the other day a guy was sitting right in front of my house not across the street but right near my driveway. My nephew went out and asked him what was he doing he said waiting for the neighbor, but he soon left so we knew he was lying.

I don't believe I've ever been under surveillance until last week. I had went to the grocery store and had a cart full. As I opened my back hatch on my car I noticed a gal in a vehicle parked out beyond me in the wide open spaces. She sat there & watched me unload my cart into the car...."One handed"....one bag at a time. It was raining cold & nasty. After I was done, she drove off. I wondered then, if I was being spied upon....actually I wish she'd have helped me, as grocery shopping is one of my biggest chores, and is very difficult for me to complete. I must time it so my husband is home, and can unload the sacks into the house. Otherwise, I don't have the steam to get the task done!
Now, I have been watching...but have seen nothing...so maybe my mind is just working overtime or I'm being parinoid.

lilly any store you go to even self sacking ones will load your car for you...dont take any chances.....I had one here..sicked the dogs on him.....he was in the neighbors pasture.........Dont mess around peoples cows here it will get you shot
