Earlier this week I had a discogram and the doctor that did that
procedure wants to examine the back side of my disc.
The nurse tells me the procedure is called, facet.
Has anyone had this procedure done?
I am looking for web site so I can read up on the procedure.
Been doing a google search and not having any luck finding
information.
Thanks,
Bummer Knees
Thanks Still In Limbo.
I am not confortable having a procedure done that I am not informed about. In the past I have been given printed information to read prior to the procedure.
I didn't recieve any printed information this time from the hospital this time. I will continue to do a search and maybe I will find what I need.
WOW Bad Boy!
You are just full of information.
I will get to work
Thank you,
Bummer Knees
The Facet is a bone, which is in the back of each vertabre. When one Facet starts to lock up with another, it can cause pain. This area of joining is called the Facet joints. As we twist, turn, or lean backwards, these bones will allow only so much movement, and then we notice we can't bend, twist, or move backwards any further. When our bodies Disc become smaller, the Facets become close to the next vertabre down below that disc. Then it could cause what is know as pain from the facet joints.

Thank you Bad Boy, Lilly & Vickinat I have bookmarked the pages and am reading to understant the information.
I pulled my last MRI and it makes more sense.
Some of what is listed on the MRI are:
L5-S1 loss of signal
L4-L5 loss of signal
L2-L3 loss of signal & moderate anterior spurring
L5-S1 Degenerative changes
L4-L5 Degerative changes
L5-S1 facet arthropathy
L4-L5 facet arthropathy
..................................................
Also diag with S1 radiculopothy
As you can see as per that MRI report, L5-S1, L4-L5, L3-L4 are causing domino effects up the spine. Which have all start from the S1 joint...
