Has anyone had much success with it... My POR put me on it last week. 5mg twice dialy. All I want to do is sleep. Been sleeping like 12 hours a day. It seemed to help with the nerve pain, when I was awake LOL.. but I don't think I can function on it. I stopped takeing it like 2 nights ago. I hope I have it out of my system now. There Is no way I can function 10 hrs a day at work. I am sure good old doc will be pissed when I tell him I can not take it.
Hi cervical.....Klonopin is one of the only drugs I can take that I don't have significant side effects from. Been taking it for about 5 years off and on now. When I was first put on it I was working FT and it was prescribed the same as for you. I found that after 2 weeks I couldn't drag my butt out of bed in the morning. So what I did was only took the one at night and that did the trick. If your sensitive to meds you might have to play a little. I used to take it shortly after dinner because I had to be up at 5:00 a.m. I found that at times I needed it twice a day because the anxiety was horrible but most of the time once a day did the trick for me. I even stop it for months sometimes with no withdrawal symptoms. I can't sing it's praises enough. It has been a life saver for me. Try playing with only one at bedtime. If you take it at 10:00 and your tired in the morning kick it back to maybe 8:00 and see if that helps. I would give it a try though. up to you. If nothing works after a few days I would definitely call the Dr. Let me know how you make out.

Capricorn I could tell the Klonopin helped. But was always excessively tired. Now that I have stopped taken it and have got it all out of my system. I will try your advice and try takeing it around 8 tonight, and drop back and try only one time a day and see how my body reacts to it.
cervical-----let me know how you make out. i had to play a little. SOmetimes even with the 2 a day it takes a couple of weeks to get rid of the "all i want to do is sleep" feeling. I tried ativan which made me depressed and cry, valium which made me vomit, and xanax which does absolutely nothing for me. I have had alot of succes with klonopin and wishyou the same.

Cervical, I use Klonopin one 1mg. tablet at bedtime to help me sleep. It worked well for me for a while, but now I think my body is getting used to it. I'm having severe sleep issues again. 5mg. twice a day seems pretty strong, and I could see why you would have a hard time functioning during the day! Maybe your Dr. could lower the dosage and see how that works for you. Best of Luck and have a Great Day!!!Wink
My opinion, is maybe cut the dose in half, and try it at bed time, don't just stop taking medication without notifing your doctor. You just may need a dose reduction to better help you. There are many medications out there, but if you can say this one has helpped you some, then talk to your Doctor, they may wish to start you out at a low dose, and slowly bring your dose up, to better help you.
Cervical...You did mean .5 mg 2xs daily, right???? Which would give you 1 mg daily. All seem to agree not to just stop it but try cutting to the one a day, I really think you'll see a difference and benefit from it.

Still>>>> I have had times that I sleep wonderfull without the klonopin and other times that I have ( with the PCP's ok) taken 3 a day and couldn't sleep at all. I find that if I have alot on my mind or am really having a bad time that nothing works. Are you stressed out more so than usual??

CAP
Stress is no higher than normal Cap., I just seem to be the type that my body seems to get used to Meds. pretty quick. I'm going to check with my Dr., Thanks for the concern!!Wink
morning still.....I totally understand,My husband is the same way. Nothing works for long. He was taking one at night and that only helped for maybe a few months. He's like that with all pain killers too. Nothing works for long. I guess even though I'm med sensitive I'm lucky in that I have taken alot of the same drugs sor 5 years and they're still working. Wink

Peace,
CAP
I cut the Klonopin in half and take it when i get in up and again around 7 pm at night ...It is much better I can actually work and stay awake. So the full strength must be too much for my body..It does seem to help me with the nerve pain, I have an appt with my Dr on wed and I will discuss the dosage with him at that time.
