Hi there, I am seeing the neuro this afternoon, but just heard about this treatment which seems to have an 86% success rate. There is a place here that has one of the machienes, and if the treatment seems viable I would prefer to do this than surgery or needles. Has anyone here ever tried it?
Yes, it works as good as snake oil. If you need the services of a nuerosugeon then you don't need this DXR9000, 8000 or 7000.
I had a spinal cord stimulator implanted to address the sciatic pain. I went to a pain management doctor for this treatment. It appears this speciality is the only one which will prescribe a SCS.
Exactly what the neuro said. He did talk about it, but said that WC would not pay for it in any case. And he would not recommend it because when it fails then that is his crediblitliy at risk. Made me think if it was so good, then the hospital would have one anyhow... o I am not going there.
This System is fairly New, consisting of a Table that actually stretches You, causing Less Pressure on Your Discs, allowing the inflamation or Bulges a chance to heal without being Compressed. I have studied and spoken to some of the People who have tried this system, and it only seems to Help those with Very Mild Bulges. If Your injury is severe enough that You are working with a Neuro., I doubt very Highly if this System would be of any Help in Your Care. For some, as I said earlier with Very Mild discomfort, this has worked, but I think it's not something someone with more serious Spinal issues should be using!

My treating POR has one of those spine med machines. I have had numerous treatments on them. Had them on my Cervical area and also on my lumbar region where I have 4 bad disc... They have not done much for me. on the lower back I was to the point where I could hardly walk anymore. It did help with one disc. I need a 4 level fusion on ly lumbar area which the surgeon will not do....But anyways that machine was not much help for me. He has had a lot of people that it has been successful on.
I just went to the chiro and he wants me to use the DXR9000. He gave me many recommendations from other patients that he has used it on. 2 problems are, he wants paid up front for the treatments and he said that only 2-5 % of the insurance co.s will pay for it and WC isn't one of them. Now Dave wants me to try it and is willing to have us pay, but my point is if this machine works then you would think WC and every other ins co. would be sending all of their disc people to this treatment. The cost is $3,000.00 so if WC knew that it worked they would gladly pay this rather small amount to have people back to work instead of paying us our wages and all of the other treatments they pay for. I didn't even want to go to the chiro , but I can't stand much more of this pain and I'm getting worse instead of better no matter what I do. I need input on this. To me it just seems like a fancy traction machine that like Still said may help those with minor back problems, but logically if it was a 100% cure insurance co's would make you get this done and wouldn't argue the cost of it.
make sure the 86% success rate was not measured by the company or practicioner promoting them.
there is legitimate research on various practices and programs available for most every therapy. review the unbiased literature for more accurate information.
especially if the promoter is named Linda May....
I have been Googleing it and have found some info. I think in my case I have been in pain for so long that I get excited when I hear of something that may help. I told the Chiro that I would check it out first and there just are not enough studies that I have found that would make me try it. I will check out Duke U and The Cleveland clinic sites to see if I can find actual medical research. Thanks

Snake Oil comes to mind. I think the contraption is only a solution to making your pocketbook lighter!
