i'm in Texas.I was given a 10% MMI from my treating doctor. the state appointed, and i'm sure the ins. co. chosen, MMI doctor gave me a 5%. the same appointed doctor saw me in november 2011 with no rating at the time. can i appeal his decision and request a second opinion from a different appointed doctor? they justed stopped my comp pay after his decision and so along with that my attorney as well. any help with this issue?
sounds like you've had a required medical examination doctor selected by the carrier and approved by the commission after a designated doctor has performed a maximum medical improvement and/or permanent whole body impairment exam.
did you have a designated doctor exam?

he didnot do the same exam the selected doctor did.basically just a office visit.he is my "treating doctor"
You need some one who's familiar with you case details.
If you can't get information from your atty consider switching.
When you get the report, it will state how long you have to appeal the rating. Yes you can apeall it.
