After 2004 those cards for metal implants were not to be allowed at airports due to their being easy to duplicate and that it's hard to clarify that the information on them is correct. Your personal doctor with your chart on hand is not available 24/7, those were the arguments of the TSA and it was agreed upon by the whitehouse and airlines.
I will see about a card, I will ask in April when I see my doctor for my MMI appointment. But he's not the one who did my jaw surgery nor my breast implants. Our local airport might be a bit of a pain, just regular scanners but major airports like Ohara or JFK will have the updated full body scanners which I will go thru and they will show what I have, any idiot should be able to tell the difference between a TKR, breast implant and a bomb, one would think. But do they pay those idiots enough?
