Amazing how much I miss when the doctor communicates with me in the doctor's office.

I saw the primary today to review the surgeon's report per a recent office visit in which I requested a second opinion.

THe surgeon I saw is one of the best around, he studied at Mayo Hospital, our area of the country is fortunate to have him.

I need a CMC arthroplasty with tendon interposition of the right hand. This would require hardware and tendon transfer, maybe one surgery I was told.

According the medical records I need surgery on both hands, the dominant hand first which will require 2 surgerys due to the damage.

Once the dominant hand is healed I need surgery on the other hand and that will require 2 surgerys, maybe more

My primary is urging me to have the first surgery ASAP.

I just do not want to deal with surgery right now.........
Bummer I understand the surgery on your dominant hand but I'd be cautious about surgery on your left. Depending upon the size of the cyst you might need a skin graft. There's always the probability that the cyst might return. Then there's the probability that the pain will not get better, I read over 3 different sites this evening and all three mentioned that if the pain is form an underlying OA that it will not improve.

I understand your concern about doing it right now, it's the holidays. Then your daughter goes back to college, more stress.

Prayers my friend,

Thanks BB, I do not want surgery at all!

The left hand is about as bad as one can get. I do experience pain with that hand but learned a long time ago use of that hand increases the pain, that is why I do not use the hand much.

I have cysts and bone spurs of that hand, two joints that need surgery, and problems with the wrist I did not know of until today's appointment.

I need to hold off on surgery, to much on my plate right now.
