My Atty keeps telling me he thinks they want to settle but no offer made yet. I'm in Louisiana injured back so far six bulging disk one protrusion. And haven't had the lumbar looked at yet. So that where I'm at and my Atty asked me how much I want to settle. So that my question. Ho
w much to ask for a d don't no what all medical I have left .
sounds like you should discuss your medical needs with your doctor so you can get an idea of what you are needing in the future. should should ask for a copy of the bills they have paid to date so you know how much things cost.
you need a court date if you are going to motivate them to settle.
usually the worker puts a out a demand amount first before carrier responds.

I live in Mass and the way I understand it is that you DON"T have to settle. The insurance company will always low ball you and the attorney will get 20% of that amount, so he/she is motivated. Maybe not in your best interest to settle but is for attorneys and insurance company. You can go for permanent total disability and collect for as long as your are disable. May be a better deal plus they pay all medical treatments, meds and doctor bills.. oh and mileage too.. all I'm saying is do your homework before you make the decision to settle.. might not be the best for you long term.

That's true in MOST cases. Neither party has to agree to any settlement, and generally, it is least beneficial to the injured worker to do so.
Consult with a WC attorney.
Yes its sad finding out how much they just want to screw over the injured worker and I'm the one who pushed to get looked at before it got so bad I need and want to work but work and the WV doctors is what. Maid my injurys worse and 8 months later still haven't been fully checked out this is sad
Usually nobody is happy with a settlement - the IW thinks they got screwed, and the IC thinks they paid too much.
If you're still having medical issues, I wouldn't recommend that you even consider a settlement. That's assuming you're still getting some wage loss benefits, of course.
Don't take me wrong when I say getting. Screwed I'm not talking about money I'm talking about getting the treatment to get u back well and to work shouldn't have to fight to get the help u need or to do the right thing
