Jayne - I know in PA it's against the law to drive on prescription narcotics. It's considered driving while impaired. It's so hard to NOT drive. How the heck are we supposed to live? I do try to get my kids and fiancé to drive whenever they can. Now that my youngest is getting his DL next week, I should barely be on the road, so I guess that's good.

It's just sad. One more thing that's been taken away. My health, my job and career, my vehicles, my home, and the ability to drive. Pretty much my whole life. <sigh>
I drive, have always driven, my drivers License have not been taken away over narcotics. I have no restrictions. Many drive while taking legal narcotics.

There is more to that 1st post obviously.
not that was said on the local news it was a small story one car accident he lost control and it was blamed on the RX drugs he was taking....I was told a long time ago if I was involved in a accident and was driving I would get a DUI I dont drive when I take them its not worth killing or hurting anyone you can argue all you want it takes a split second and someone is gone forever and its just not worth it to me....I know its a macho thing to some to argue they have taken them so long they can drive....but to kill someone just to prove a point isnt worth it to me there is no where I have to be that is that imporatant to me....
Free - I've never had any problems either, but I did look up the law here in PA and asked a State Trooper friend. He said it was the same as DUI. At least it is here. Im sure the laws are different everywhere.
But in the same thought, an ex friend of mine, who is on massive amounts of meds and really should not be driving, got pulled over for being all over the road, and the cops saw the giant bag of meds she carried, and they just had her call her husband to come get her and drive her and her kids home. She is an example of someone who should not be driving on meds. She falls asleep while talking...sad .
I do have days I do not drive, when the pain levels are up, I am taking more meds. I also do not drive on the days I have migraines, heck I can't concentrate of those days let alone drive a vehichle.
alot of people drive that shouldnt....here in Okla.as long as you renew every time its due and not let it expire all you have to do is pay the money take a pic and walk out....I havent taken a test in over 20 years..The druggest doesnt take your drivers licence when he fills your meds he expects you to have common sense..your local walmart doesnt take your licence when you buy a couple of cases of beer.... go to your local police station hand him your daily meds and ask him if you should be driving Freebird....there are days I wont even walk to the gate by myself cuz I am afraid of falling....my balance is so off just from my back and head aches and I am gonna drive a car down the road at 60 miles an hour nope not me.....

In Louisiana, The Pharmacist is REQUIRED to write down your DL when you are filling a Schedule 2 Narcotic. I have asked several Doctors in the last 8 years and ALL say it is fine to drive with a CONTROLLED Sch 2 Narcotic at least in Louisiana.

CONTROLLED is the word.
God heal your heart and mind if ever you are involved in an accident that hurts or killes anyone....
